Hail and well met, all,

I've just returned after having left shortly after RoK came out.

I have a Lv 72 Fury and a plethora of alts ranging from mid-teens to mid-20's.

I'm interested in starting a new Templar, starting him n Halas, (if a Templar can start there), and following this "Golden Path" thingamabobdoohickey.

My questions are:

1) Well... CAN I start a Templar in Halas?

2) How much do you think I'll miss the teleports and run speed buff of my Fury? How is getting around?

3) I keep hearing that solo'ing as a Templar, while better now than before... not that I'm overly concnerned about it because I'm not in any hurry... but is it truly THAT painful to solo level a Templar? I'd prefer to group and will always do so when I can... but as I understand it the lowbie areas are a bit lacking and many find it faster to solo.

4) I understand there's an "AA Slider" now? There wasn't when I left. You got AA from quest turn ins only and if you wanted to slow your leveling you turned off Combat XP. So... any advice on how/when to set/juggle the AA Slider so that I don't level too quickly and find myself woefully "Under AA'd" for my level?

5) Along those lines, any advice for what to do to use almost all the content, (without it being grey con), on the journey to Lv 90? Turn off Combat XP? Keep AA Slider more towards AA and less towards leveling XP? Etc?

6) Coming back to my Fury... can anyone give me a definitive answer as to how grouping/raiding is for the 70+ Fury? The Fury boards seem very split. Some say with SF they got a lot of attention and are much better now... but one of the last posts was something about maybe the Fury team lead or whatever will come in and tell eveyone how much love the Fury got and WHAT they got changed/added. However, said Fury team lead hasn't posted. I'm not asking here for a run down of all the changes... just is the Fury now a suitable group/raid healer for the 70+ content? Or will he mainly be my solo/exploration character?

7) Anything else you can think of to help me maximize my enjoyment of playing a Templar through from the beginning for one who is interested more in the journey than the destination? And no... "Don't play a Templar if you're going to solo" while maybe sound and good advice... is not advice I'll heed

Thanks folks, hope to see you around Permafrost.

Take care.

I'll try and answer a couple, since I'm at work. 1) YES, you can START a Templar in Halas, Halas is a good city and templar is a good class, bingo ! 2) With the new travels system coming in GU56 and not having to do certain pre-req's (bushes, eggs, etc.) and some added in-zone travel options, you can probably miss out on fury stuff. 4 & 5) Basically, you'll just set the AA slider closer to 100 when you want to 'slow down' Adventure leveling. Even though there are a lot of opinions on gaining AA, some people will stop at x2 levels and set slider to 100, others will 'juggle' the slider WHILE leveling, etc. But I think the consensus is that you would want about 2.5xAA per adv. level, which will provide a solid foundation as you get to the upper levels...
