I have a trigger in act that lets me know when time warp is active:

.*?Time Warp is now ready for use.*

It works fine but tbh time warp on me is not so useful, i much rather have it on my pet ofc.

So i am probably going to ask our illy to make a macro like:

/target Shalin

/target Shalin

/useability time warp

/tell Shalin time warp bla bla

(I didnt actually try that double target macro, i hope it works because a /target_group_pet [playernumber-2] needs to be edited each time the group gets changed)

Now if we get that to work i still have to count down 5 seconds myself before using EB, unless i get the act trigger to work for time warps that were casted on my pet.

Did anybody get that to work? I am not sure if it is even possible because i could not find a message in my logs indicating that the illy casted time warp on another person. Maybe there exists some type of work around. Any ideas?

You won't get a "is ready for use" message when it's cast on your pet. You will definitely need to mentally count the five seconds time if you want to cast something like EB while it's up on your pet.

My usual illy simply has her macro send me a tell when she's casting it on my pet. Works great so far.

Don't think she ever resolved the targeting issue, but I think she got around it by often using my pet as her MA

Easiest way that I have found, is get ahold of all your illy's have them send their /tell macro to you.. go into ACT or GC and add them there. You can also give it a sound on 5 seconds so you know when the 5 seconds is up.

One pro-tip is to just watch your pets damage, when he DA's you have enough time to cast your instant cast elemental blast and land it for the double attack.

That is what I do if I'm not running act or gc at the time. All in all, it works great.. you just need to input their /tell macro for each person you could potentially be grouped with.

Lets bring this topic up so every conj out there cna train those illies! Its really not that hard, and this seems to work fine for me. But always open to new suggestions

Illy's Job

CREATE MACRO:

commandline : /target_group_pet # (# being the location in the group - 2) for example If i'm number 5 in the group window, they would put a 3 in the # spot!

useability : time warp

commandline : /tell NAME I just put TW on your pet

OUR JOB :

Go to ACT: Add a trigger for I just put TW on your pet and give it a 5 second timer... from there it will ding, ring, yell, scream or some other convenient method to notify you that TW is ticking!

Personally I ignore the ACT timer thing and just look for the pretty double attacks to start goin off, then I'll slame EB...

Right, have you guys seen this illy thread?http://www.eq2flames.com/illusionis...mewarp-pet.html

That's pretty much the response I get from my illy as well, and he's even a friend of mine .

/jealous if you can get your illy to do it.

So wait... They complain that they are a broken class when it comes to buffing, but refuse to apply their buff where it would generate the most bang for the buck?

They make absolutely no sense IMHO. In fact they bring no argument against doing so, they only complain.

TW timed with EB is definitely a good thing for the whole raid (more DPS = faster kill = less chance for someone to screw up). When a buffing class refuses to do properly buff, then it's time for them to stop playing a buffing class - it's their main role.

Having spent over two years as an officer in an endgame raiding guild, I can tell that I had to deal a few times with buffing class players not properly buffing. We simply replaced those people, and the raid force was improved as a whole when we did that.

I think the problem is that those illies don't realise yet that our pet generate more than 50% of our DPS output. Which means that a DPS buff makes more sense on our pet than ourselves. Our pets aren't just fluff. Buffs should go where they give the highest impact.

/rant off

This is just anecdotal, but my sense is that yes they're complaining....they're bitter and angry over their parse degredation and/or other broken/nerfed stuff, and from what I can tell are betraying or switching mains in droves. I think they know perfectly well our pets do more dps than we do.

Yep they should pet buff, and yep they should be replaced if they can't play utility properly (I raid a troub in addition to a conj so know something about putting utility above convenience and personal dps), but as was stated in the thread, replaced by whom? Until game mechanics change it seems like it will be a class played less and less often, by worse and worse players.

I think it's getting sad that all 24 classes want to be able to do high-end DPS. Nevermind the part about playing a class for its specifics.

My feelings exactly. They're ticked that they can't dps like they used to. Well what about before RoK? Did they have big deeps in DoF? No. KoS? No. So it's not like they are 'supposed' to be able to...they just resent being given a glimpse at the top of the parse and then getting it taken away. Being a conj we can all empathize with that, but really they should either adapt or change classes. Easy for me to say I suppose .

Let me step in a sec here.

I am a former Illusionist, I know *exactly* where they are coming from. This has very, very little to do with their spot on the parse. It has everything to do with the effort they must go through for *any* spot on the parse.

Conjurors are a very busy, very "finesse" class. We have absolutely nothing on Illusionists. Believe me when I tell you, they work as hard and harder than we do for far, far less "reward".

Don't even start throwing that whole "buffing" issue around. That buffing issue is dead. The problem Illusionists have is that their class has no clearly defined role aside from being a buffbot. Let me assure you, that is not a pleasant role. There are a lot of talented, skilled Illusionists out there who are barely discernable from the pathetic, talentless Illusionists.

All that said, yes, a *good* Illusionist will simply create a macro and set it up to TW your pet. It really doesn't take them that long, or cost them that much in terms of their own job.

A simple thank you when they do it however, would go a long way. Between a Troub and an Illusionist, I'm not sure who the most underappreciated class in EQ2 is.
