I'm having trouble with the Launcher. At first when I install EQ2 it works on the very first go, but when I log out, and log back in, it won't boot me into the game. It just keeps updating and updating...I noticed when I go into the folder, it's not getting any bigger, and nothing's changing. It seems as if it's constantly having some sort of update loop. When it says "Play", I click it, and then it goes back to updating....over and over again.

I tried downloading the Station Launcher, and spending most of the day patching 10+GB of information, and it's still doing the same thing. I saw an earlier post where turning off "read only" might have worked, but that didn't. In fact, some of the folders revert back to "read only".

My DXDIAG and nfo files are here:

http://s199816908.onlinehome.us/DxDiag.txt

http://s199816908.onlinehome.us/nfo.nfo

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Please note I'm running a trial...but I do want to purchase this if I can solve this problem.

Thanks,

Robert

Double check to make sure that you didn't switch versions by accident and that it is trying to update either a different region or the test server folder. If for some reason you either got switched to a EU server or test in the launcher it will completely redownload the game unless you copy folders over manually.

Well I can't offer you any suggestions but my launcher is extremely slow to log in and can take upwards of 2 minutes to loadup/log in. Could it be the same problem for me?

Thank you to all who responded.

Please forgive me. I actually wound up solving the problem this morning. It seems it won't work if I install EverQuest 2 on a drive that's not the same as the system drive. Once I uninstalled/cleaned registry/reinstalled on the C drive it works great...however only if I'm in Station Launcher (which seems to update every time I boot it up, but I seem to get in game fine)

I would prefer having all my games on a separate drive, but one game is alright.

Thank you all again.

Sounds like a security setting in windows was preventing files from being updated or something got corrupted.

You can install EQ2 wherever you like as I run windows7 and have it on the partition seperate from windows.

At least you can play now though.
