2H weapons generally don't give as good (overall) stats as sword and board. The only thing increased by using a 2H over 1H + shield is your autoattack damage, which in the low levels is pretty insignificant anyway. As a result, the 2H weapons are generally considered to be subpar and not used.

Add in that you gain survivability with a shield due to the higher avoidance from blocking, gain an extra attack with your shield, and you will also eventually gain AA's that increase your 1H auto-attack dps to *surpass* a 2H (while keeping your shield) and. . . . .

I'd suggest a sword and board.

But if you "must" use a 2H weapon, get the longest swing delay you can find and get as much crit chance as you can -- this will maximize your possible dps with it. Be sure it's got as much STR and STA on it as you can find as well.

It is possible to 2h lower levels, currently TSO and SF dont exactly support 2h weapons.. supposedly on test 2h puts out some great dps but there really isnt that many 2h weapons too choose from currently in SF

recommend sword and board tho for above stated reason

Hey guys...

Thanks heaps for the response's.....sorta new the sword board combo atm is best.....however its not really how i want to play and wouldnt imagine would be in elite company either grouping or guilds for some while....so really focusing on how i want to play rather than what the current formula's support...

So do you have any recommendations?......thats good value for money or any quests to do?.....looked at zam's...but they dont do dps comparision or rankings on dps?....the highert crit multiple recommendation is great thanks for that...was going for longest delay too...

Thanks heaps in advance..

Cheers!

Forzy

You should be able to make pretty good milage off getting mastercrafted player made ones, imbued, of course.

Money is pretty easy to make these days as a low level. Just put every "treasured" item you don't want to use on the broker at a reasonable price. The goal here is primarily to sell mass quantities to adorners. My buddy and I have been charging 8g for T2, 10g for T3, 12g for T4...and it all sells overnight. Could probably get away with asking for a bit more, but we like the guarenteed quick sales, a bit of a must as our duo tends to acquire plenty of stock to sell Additionally, the "fertilizer" type loot also sells well on brokers, 15g easy, another sold every night sale. For the server I'm on, of course, yours may be more or less.

But anyway, doing that should make you plenty of money to let you buy mastercrafted 2-handers or whatever people happen to have available that isn't too unreasonable. Get some MC armor as well. Imbued bp, imbued legs at the least, but maybe more, so as to boost armor a bit.

Also, from a power standpoint, slowing down your leveling a bit to get some AAs can help a ton. In particular, hitting 60 spent (with 10 in shadow's general), so you can get the X off the top of each hit shadow's figher AA. With that AA, you should be able to happily swing the 2H sword with little problem from physical damage. Be sure your gear covers you well for resists. Check out the mastercrafted hex dolls, if those didn't exist when last you played, for a great source of resists. But anyway, having more AAs than a normal person your level means you're tougher, which in turn leaves you with some room to mess around with things and still be up to par.

Hey Axterix...

Thanks for that....great advice....not sure what mastercrafted is yet...but im assuming everyone else does....

so atm im lelve 10 with a few AA's...and have exp at 5% and 95% AA....people keep talking about exp from mobs then exp from quests and exp for AA's...is there another button for this except the slider?...i thought there was only the slider...so all exp from mobs and quests went into the slider split you chose?...

I assume the fertilizer loot is the shinies on the ground that you gather?....

Not sure what you mean by the X off the top....but i will have to have a look.....

Love that idea of more AA's for level on average....was hoping to do 1 level per 3 AA...that reasonable?...

Thanks heaps in Advance..

Forzy...

Mastercrafted:

Mastercrafted is a tier of item made by the recipes that use the rare harvests. For example, for T2 (10-19), the standard metal harvest is iron and the rare is Black Iron. So a crafter with the "advanced weaponworking volume X", with X being a value from 10 to 19, could potentially make you a nice mastercrafted 2-handed weapon. And, of course, there's some nice 2h weapons a Woodworker can make as well, using the rare wood.

At the Broker, you can do the advanced search and set it to Mastercrafted. Think it is under the "Tier" heading.

Because it is crafted, as long as you can get the rare needed and find a crafter willing to make the item, or find the item already made on the exchange, availability is high.

Fabled weapons and gear are also great. For the 20-29 range, for example, my 2h weapon was a fabled tulwar that drops in Stormhold. 2 delay weapon, but was great dps. You can also search the broker for fabled stuff.

AAs:

Nope, just the slider. And yup, all the adventure xp splits, pretty much, according to that setting. Additionally, certain things give you bonus AA xp, like completing certain quests (primarily heritage and collection quests) and killing certain mobs the first time (typically nameds, they have the * after the name when you target them if you qualify for the bonus).

As to 1 level per 3 AAs, you can do that, though you might get a little bit bored. The way to do that would be to join groups that are doing dungeons your level, probably as DPS since you most likely don't know your way around them yet (good way to learn them though), as well as visiting all the zones for your tier. And once you do know them, with the right mix of gear, level, and AA, you can solo parts of them while they are still xp and loot. Or better yet, from a money making perspective, trio them. 1 tank, 1 healer, 1 DPS with AAs can do these dungeons quite well and a trio in my experience makes for the best items to sell return per person per time invested.

And then to do multiple zones for the level. For 20-30, for example, you have Butcher Block, Nektulos Forest, and Thundering Steppes. So if you split your time between those as you work through that range, that's a lot of quests, a lot of fresh nameds with *s, and a bit of a change of scenery to ward of boredom.

Additionally, the older zones (like TS and Nek Forest) have a few perks. The loot they reward tends not be as good as the newer ones, but they tend to have more random nameds, so more *s for bonus AA xp and loot to sell off them. Additionally, many of the quests tend to reward treasured loot you can trade, while the newer zones like BB tend to have quest rewards that are "No-Trade". Since people tend to go for the newer zones as well, collectables (the ?s on the ground) from the older zones also tend to sell for more.

The key though, really, is that AA that takes X of the top. 65 points spent to get and max that. Worth doing a bit of grinding to get it, as, from a solo perspective, that AA is just overpowered. And it makes doing a lot of stuff possible with a small group that wouldn't otherwise be possible. And as to what X off the top means...

X off the top:

What I mean with this is that it reduces the damage by X. For my SK, with 5 ranks, this value is currently around 100 (it scales with level). So a physical hit that used to hit for 120 now hits me for 20. And one that would hit for 100 or less gets reduced to 0. This, combined with the mitigation from my armor, makes me pretty much immune to melee from yellow con or less mobs mobs without any ^, as well as most with ^ or ^^.

Fertilizer Loot:

Certain loot items have a bit at the start of their description, typically something like "arcane treasure" or "fertilizer treasure". The ones that are fertilizer treasure are the ones that are worth putting on the broker. If I remember a few, it is things like "bag of potasium nitrate", "jug of pond water", and so on.

Use whatever you can find. At your level there's no HQ you can do to get one you might think is "neat", ie; purposeful and sentimental. I suggest in groups you use 1H and Shield and solo use whatever you want and kill mass amounts of lower level Mobs en masse - ie, at 25, take on 4 level 21 solo Mobs's with AE and lifetaps rather than try to overextend yourself with 2 Solo level 24-26 mobs, especially using a 2 hander. I guarantee that's the proper way to do it for fast XP.

Best Regards, GL, HF and Safe Journeys
