I dont think it is considered active, he must have casted or something recently...

But thats the least they could do, what they need to do is make it so u dont need to be next to someone to vote them! And they need to make a leader voting system if the leader blows!

SOE needs to stop dragging their feet, and revamp "vote AFK" system. Additionally, there needs to be a method added to allow players the ability to vote for raid leader. The current options are completely inadequate for dealing with exploiters and partially monitored idlers.

I've got mixed feelings on the AFK matter. Yes, it's too easy for bot programs to get around the AFK voting method. It would be nice if we could figure some way around this.

But having said this, there's the other side of the equation. As a Brigand, I flag guard in Ganak since most people never do that job. One match as I'm mauling incoming flag pullers, I hear a young boy on my team start to babble and try to "lead" in VC. He seemed to be spastically running all over the place in a generally random fashion as can't seem to figure out what role he wants to play in the Ganak strategy. Then having decided to come back to our flag, the kid instantly tries to vote me AFK because I'm sitting on our flag stealthed as I'm waiting for the next pull attempt. [Removed for Content]?

I guess my point is that while most people try to use the AFK voting power responsibly, we also have to make it use enough of a majority that random idiots can't start voting people AFK when they're actually participating.

Though while we're on the subject, why can't we get an AFK vote system for changing the Raid Leader? I've lost count of the number of teams where my PUG raid leader in Smugglers isn't in VC and refuses to move people / fix groups. Our only in game resource is to try to force them out of the raid via the AFK voting system. It would be just easier to have a Raid Leader voting system and include a No Confidence option.

They just need to tweak the system to look at people voted AFK over the past 7 days, using the number of played matches as the denominator (a running average). If a personal emergency happens or I just need to hit the can, then my AFK rate over the course of a week will probably be <1%. No sweat. Now when they have an AFK rate of say >25%, then those accounts should be flagged to be investigated. That's high enough that we're not caught up in an insane system where we always have to be present at the keyboard or some idgit votes us afk.
