Wall Text from the Library of Erudin

<p>As I was hunting for clues in The Mystery of the Slain Scholar inside the Library of Erudin, I began to wonder what the text was on the pieces of shattered wall up in the stacks.</p><p>To satisfy my own curiosity I pieced them together, and thought I'd share it in case anyone else was interested.</p><p>I tried but was unable to get up on the edge of the window - I wanted to peek out and see what the rest of the text said.</p><p><img src="http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/0d926104bc04f85d544226f4a064b411ae0cd4af.jpg" width="439" height="760" /></p>

<p>Yep yep. When I first entered the library, I noticed the words as well, and figured it must have been the quote listed on the outside of the library in EQlive. I put the words together and thats what it was.</p>

<p>I think its really cool of the dev's to throw that in...especially since its the only in-game source of english in EQ2. Every language in EQ2 has a non-english symbol or letter system. Nobody speaks english (Common being the closest) so seeing english in EQ2 is a bit non-cannon except for the whole part where this quote comes directly from the zone art of EQ1.</p>

<p>There's actually a play on that text, I think, in how the pieces are broken up.  I remember one of the devs (timetravelling, I think) explaining the zone by highlighting certains letters/words.</p><p>"<strong>For knowledge is the</strong> greatest quest o<strong>f all</strong>."</p><p>Erud, Father of Erudites, Founder <strong>of Erudin</strong>.</p><p>i.e. "For knowledge is the fall of Erudin"</p>

Presumably still attached to the exterior wall. </p>
