I ran the x4 for the first time last night and I was hoping to get some hints from other healers on how to target or how to change my uisettings for easier targeting. Normally I have my UI set up to show player names on target or mouseover only, so it is easy to find group members in the same zone. I just target them and their name shows up and I can run to them. No other player names show up so it is easy to distinguish. In the x4 for some reason when i target a group member, it treats it like a linked NPC encounter and all 24 members of the raid names show up.

When I get zoned in late and the group has already dispersed or if I am killed and rez across the zone, I have a hard time finding my tank in the midst of 24 player names. I target him but my targeting arrow shrinks to almost nothing when it is so distant and his name is lost in the sea of 24 names. So sometimes I couldn't find my tank and would just head to the nearest cluster of dots on my map. At that point since i couldn't distinguish my group members from the rest of the raid I would be spamming group heals (in case one of them was nearby) and targeting low health people in the raid window to find out if they were in heal range. That was delaying my heals so I switched to tab targeting enemy players and hitting assist to heal their target.

At any rate this was not a pleasent experience for me and i can see why i was usually one of only two or three healers in the raid. Hopefully some of you experienced battlegrounds healers can give me some tips on how to change my settings so I can find my group better and how to mouse over nearby players without having all 24 names light up. Also any tips on targeting the people around me and strategies for when my group splits up and fans out in five different directions how to quickly help the people out of group that are nearby. I did have fun hitting my aoe fear in the middle tower, but that is only once every two minutes so there was a lot of frustration versus fun.
