Dwarf or Barbarian Ranger? (or Recommended Race)

<p>Hello,</p><p>I'm returning to EQII after having been gone for some time and I prefer Ranger-type characters in most games, and am considering either a dwarf or barbarian for racial choice.</p><p>I'm here to ask the opinions of those who play, especially those who have played to high level in PVE (I don't do PvP) in regards to the racial choice.</p><p>I'll mostly be solo play (by choice) as my time available to play will vary and I most often only play for an hour or two at a time anyway.</p><p>Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.</p>

<p>Well any class works.</p><p>If you are looking at min-maxing, then Wood Elf is the only way to go, period.</p><p>Other good choices are to roll a Dark Elf or Ratonga Assassin and betray to Ranger, or go with Half Elf or Halfling. </p><p>I recommend Ratonga because they are awesome (almost as good as Kerra)  <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

Yep, I agree with this 100%. Although i'm actually a human which isn't even a good '2nd choice' but it doesn't hurt me any really.

<p>I enjoy the benefits of Arasi, not much benefit for a ranger in either dwarf or barbarian IMO, but seriously any race will do. The real differences will be aa, ca levels and equipment not necessarily in that order.</p>

<p>If you want to solo a lot, humans get diplomacy which helps quite a bit with pulling singles.</p>
