Hi all,

I am looking for some help with making a macro to cast a heal on my group's conjy's pets. After looking through old forums I came up with this macro:

Command: /target_group_pet

Command: /useability healspell

This seems to work ok if the conjy's pet is the only pet in the group and if we are not in a raid format. If the Coercer uses a pet this macro almost always heals that pet, and if we are in a raid this macro comes back with no target. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If the Conj is say the third person in the group hit F3 twice, first it will target the Conj second time you hit F3 it will target the pet, hit it again and it goes back to the Conj...I have never found a reliable macro for healing pets, this is the shortcut I use.

Group heal. There is really no need to directly target a Conjuror pet for heals. A Conjuror can already toss a heal (which also cures) if necessary, and the Conjuror doesn't need to change targets.

As a healer, I have more important things to do than try to pick out a pet or keep tabs on it. As a Conjuror, I definitely do NOT expect a healer to keep an eye on my pet, that's my job.

In some situations this may come in handy. Leash pulls and pet tanking type of scenarios for example. But warding a pet on a leash pull or shadowstep is kinda useless cause the conj will have the pet prepared to resummon. It's seldom my pet survives a leash pull in a raid but it does happen if you get your stoneskin up and tank grabs agro in time. The benefit is the pet takes the initial blast for the raid party. When I play my fury I typically double click the summoners name in the group or raid window. With that said I suppose it would be possible to type your macro so it shows as follows....

(just an example showing if you click the name twice you will get the pet of any class)

/target %t/target %t/useability healspell

So your targetting (clicking) the person twice. This can be done with quick group/raid macro's too. So you click the # of the person twice instead of trying to target them or click their neame in group/raid window.

Edit - this also works for classes like druids, templars, rangers, coercers and illy's with their summoned or charmed pets.

/target_group_pet #

Where # is your group member number minus two.

IE if your summoner friend is the second group member, # is 0. If he's the third group member, # is 1, etc. Works all the way up to 4.
