The EverQuest II team has some really amazing artists on the team. Jeff Jonas makes all kinds of fun stuff to wear, wield, or ride (there wasn't a good 'w' word, so the alliteration fails). He's incredibly talented and took some time out to chat with us about what he does. Recently he designed the rewards for the 'Shadows of the Betrayed' line. Thanks, Jeff!

From the Article:

This cool system allows our backpacks to have items swivel and bounce around like real objects kind of do- without additional animator time. This allowed me to make a few popular backpack items such as the Frostfell backpacks of last year, and the latest Brewmeister barrel backpacks. Other backpacks are coming for other tradeskills as well. It’s a lot of fun to see the items bouncing along in our test viewer.

Oh really? Now you have to give us more details!

That said - I love the animations on the Brewmeister Backpack on Test. The main keg bounces up and down and the smaller ones go everywhere while dumping brew constantly. Nicely done!

Ah, so that's who designed the nifty new tradeskill weapons! They are great . And the gnomish hoverpad has a horn?! I will have to go harvest more brellium so I can make one!

hrm .. so Jeff Jonas is the one who designed the TS weapons, k. I *bow and scrap* at the feet of someone who gives us Crafters so many nice bits of eyecandy. Thank you!Thank you!

And, I also can't wait to see these Crafter Backpacks, though, I think maybe they meant 'themed' backpacks and not specifically for -us- crafters. I know my Provo is waiting for the backpack with the sausages on it that the Halfling in Moonfield is wearing to hit the Marketplace or in-game and I could go for a 'Book-bag' themed backpack for my Sage/Librarian.

But, Jeff, hun, can you please tweak the Frying Pan, please? It has 'issues' .. specifically, when the pan is 'at rest'. Maybe, shrinking it a bit for when it's not being used to wack someone?

You retrieve it from one of the named in Ravenscale Repository. iirc.
