Heya Test folks! I've added a bunch of new quests to the Stonebrunt Highlands! Seek out Sous Chef Jailaya in Moonfield Hamlet, Damodar in the Mausoleum of Scholars and Felidael in the Kejek encampment. If you guys get an opportunity to check them out and give me any feedback, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

I grabbed the sous chef quest havent finished them all yet. Its similar to the cube kill quests provided in painel.I did all the kejak quests. I had a small issue w locating the scythe but the description about looking in marred area was fine. Maybe make the scythe Shine a bit more to be slightly more visable. If not no big deal. The actual quests there have a decent difinitive story and showed the kejaks becoming coerced which was cool.

I did most of the masuleum quests had a small issue of finding the necromonstrosity eventually i found it, but it took me a LONG time, maybe add a better location description in the quest journal other then stonebrunt, like toward deepwater pavillion. Everything seems to be working fine so far.

Those quests have been in for about a week at least now... just started a topic on it...

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=477956

EDIT: Two of the quests from Lochanya do not work properly at all. Sundered Simulacrum cannot be completed. After you have all the updates, she talks to you as if you've completed the quest, rather than actually completing it and removing it from your journal.

The next quest, Visual Obfuscation, has no way to update. There's nothing in your backpacks... nothing to click around the telescope... it's just broken. Sundered Simulacrum has been broken for about 3 days at least... however something was done to "fix" it... Lochanya wouldn't accept the quest was done... and now she replies to you as if it is done when you're trying to turn in.

Visual Obfuscation has been broken since I was able to pick it up.

Thanks guys. Keep it coming.

Kain, I'm "resetting" Lochanya's last two quests now that they're fixed so you and other players who are on the quests, but stuck can now finish them. This should appear in the next update to Test.

Cheers for the tip. I'll give that a go today.

EDIT: Apparently I'd already deleted Visual Obfuscation, so Sundered Simulacrum completed without any problems, next quest was picked up and also completed without issues.

So it looks like those two are now working correctly.

I'd love to test these quests but TestCopy is still PvP. Unless testing of higher-level content is to be limited to the permanent Test community, perhaps the opening of a third test server could be considered.

I'm aware I can copy my characters, that's not the problem. It took me time and trouble to create and furnish a guild on TestCopy, simply so that I could test new high-level content there. Now I can't even recall to my guild and obviously can't use any of the amenities. I'm also not interested in testing PvP content or neutral content in a PvP context.

Go without a guild then. I do... plus Test_Copy gets wiped every so often anyway... so spending "time and trouble" to create a high level guild on there, plus decorating, isn't that advisable to begin with.

Searching for Sojourners quest...

Currently stuck on the Marred Plateau update. I think I've covered most of the area reported as "The Marred Plateau" in-game and this still hasn't updated. Going to continue looking, but I think the quest could do with being a little more specific, or the update area might need widening... right now it would appear to be VERY pin-point specific.

EDIT: Never mind, found it! I would echo Gungo's comments and do something to the weapon to make it stand out a bit more. It's a bugger to find!

I'd love to check them out. More quests in Stonebrunt Highlands are really needed, most players I know finished all the questlines by level 87-88 and if you are not an instance player it left only repeatables to boringly level to 90. So thanks to you for adding more. There are actually many of us who are questers and tradeskillers only.

I will try them as soon as you take the test server off pvp. I realize you do need to test pvp content also, but there is no way I'll take my toons out to play while pvp. I'll hide in the guild hall and tradeskill until then or explore with my baby brigand in New Halas which thankfully is still non pvp.

It's honestly not that bad...

Most of the PvP is going on in Antonica/Commonlands for the warfields stuff. I just ran around on Test_Copy for an hour or so and saw 2 other people... both of which were of the same alignment as me.

There is honestly way to much whining about pvp enabled when it has no effect on testing. The first day in stonebrunt (wens) was me and kain and i ended up discoing the cube quest. The next day i logged on before work was me and an 80 bruiser.

Each of my calls worked so I have no idea what the guild hall call thing not working means.

Yes I know it can get wiped but that's only happened once since I've been there, and I thought it was worth the effort to be able to test things in a more realistic context.

But okay, obviously they have enough people testing it and don't need more, so I'll stop trying to test high-level things.

You can test all content on test, NOTHING stops that as people obviously have shown. Bur people can be petty and cry about stuff that doesn't even effect them.

Kain-UK
05-10-2010, 04:37 AM

Actually I would've said "Nothing" is people going "Well I would test, but..." and making up some reason not to, then trying to make out it's a big, epic thing when it's really not.

The "petty" thing you're wrong on as well given that the discussion has been about Test_Copy, which people don't play on as a main server. They just copy their characters over and test out the new content.

What is so hard about people doing that? Instead of all this "Well I would test but" crap... just copy your characters over and get on with it! Otherwise, if stuff is buggy when it goes live, you have -no- right to complain as you didn't help sort it out.

There is no point in arguing with Gungo and Lain on this, they have their minds made up that anyone who doesn't have a tolerance to deal with the PvPers is being petty and spiteful.

They simply do not understand why some people do not want to participate in any aspect of PvP or with anything to do with that ruleset. It is within their level of tolerance so to them it is ok and doesn't bother them. Me, I want nothing AT ALL to do with any PvP ruleset. I do not even want to have the potential of having to deal PvPers, I do not play this game to play PvP and if I wanted to PvP, I'd sure as heck find a REAL PvP game to do it in.

I'm glad they are adding quests in SBH, there was a need for them and I hope those of you who have higher level toons are have a tolerance for the PVP kids are able to help get them bug free, but do not expect me to be 'happy' about the testing senario.

By your own admission you obviously don't have the tolerance to test them. So what is your point if you refuse by your own choice since nothing in the game restricts you from testing these quests.

The fact is even though the server is PVP enabled. No ONE is on test copy. In the week I have been testing the new items added in every test patch and I log in every night. I have been attacked 0 times. The only place right now were pvpers are killing each other is antonica and commonlands and even there they do not have many people pvping. Now if you have been getting ganked and griefed repeatedly while trying to test something you may have a point, but you havent. Bottom line is you are crying without a reason at the moment.

Well, if we can get back to the topic at hand...

I ran through the Kerran questline last night in a duo on Test. The first section, all of which takes place in and around the abandoned Kerran village, seemed very smooth. Can't say I enjoyed it much though - that village is horrible to navigate, very cluttered, dark and ugly.

Aesthetics aside, we came across a couple of small issues: nearly all the quests allow group members to share the necessary resources but the one that asks for granite doesn't. Each granite ground spawn despawns as soon as one person harvests it.

The quest that asks you to gather nuts asks for "a large number", which then shows up in your journal as "6". I don't call that a large number, but then when I harvested the first nut the number required in the journal jumped from 6 to 18! Make your mind up. That quest was also the most irritating, since to get 18 nuts you have to go round and round harvesting the plants as they respawn. Either have more plants or have them give more than one nut at a time.

The quest that uses the granite you gathered to make gravestones has the wrong compass direction. The graves you need are North East of the quest giver, not East as he says. Given that they are also very hard to see until you stumble over them, this is more of a problem than you might think.

Moving on to the part that takes place outside the village area, we found this much more fun. The only problem we ran into was with the final rescue of the Kerrans hanging over the void in the Gardens. This is tuned for a solo player, so if you run up in a duo as we did and each of you starts freeing Kerrans form opposite ends, you each end up with two freed Kerrans each, and two "unfreed" Kerrans with books over their heads running merrily away withthe freed ones. Fortunately they do reset in about a minute or two and you can each free the ones you missed. That does rather spoil the climax of the storyline, though, and looks ridiculous.

The rewards are excellent, but my Bruiser partner was somewhat miffed that the Martial weapons reward is only one hand. Since the most likely thing it would replace for a solo/duo player at that point is the level 85 HQ reward Claws of Jo-Jo, which is two one-hand claws, I can see the problem.

Overall, though, jolly good.
