The GU56 preview that I had hoped to have written over the weekend suffered from major fibro fog distraction. To tide you over until it is written, I have some eye-candy from the Test server, in the form of a Niami-style New Halas Housing Preview. Enjoy!

Edit: and while I was busy being distracted by everything under the sun yesterday, so that it took me most of the day on and off to get the images of that 3-room home edited and the article written, Kaisha put together some lovely images of the New Halas starter home. Yep, that's the so-called 1-room. Isn't it huge?! And oh, so lovely!

I've added a link to a second article for the New Halas starter home, so that you can see the differences between the "3-room" and the "1-room" homes.

Not to derail the thread, but what is fibromyalgia? I have of course heard of it, since I know the full name. lol

Also, I agree completely with Journee! I have had a basic inn room for the longest time because none of the housing options did it for me... Kelethin was kinda blah; SQ while I liked the backyard, was again rather meh; FP I cant stand the city or the housing. Neriak, cant stand the lag, houses look like tombs. Gorowyn has beautiful housing if you like round holes... and the city itself is neat but its obnoxiously hard to traveserse it if youre not a fae/arasai.

Halas housing on the otherhand is breathtaking... my druid is moving there as soon as the shipping lines open up.

Cold winters with nightfall coming early. The wind sweeping up from the frigid waters. A cozy and inviting wood interior of a log built home. A tasty meal of fresh caught fish, hardbread and butter. Children curling up on a rug of bear fur, wrapped in a fleece blankets in front of a warm and steady fire in the stone hearth. A pair of chairs pulled up close with comfortable pillows of blue duck down with a matching pair of stoneware mugs filled with warm glögg. Low flickering lights. The sound of the wind whipping about the small home. And a sweet story about a tomte, a troll and a beautiful älva maiden to put little eyes and ears to sleep.

Now that would be enjoyable. Got to love warm wood homes in cold country. I can't wait for New Halas.

I have always had an interest in medicine... just had no inclination to be a doctor. And not to be rude, but it does kinda sound like its all in your head; but if you ask me, alot of these "newly discovered" conditions sound like they are made up...

I realize that you feel outraged and defensive that someone had the temerity to call you out, and that's fine.
The Spoon Theory is a great read -- and I ran out of spoons a couple days ago, which is why my GU56 preview hit a long stall ... there will be more up tonight or tomorrow, really! I'm glad for the many-day delay, though, as it is allowing me to add in some house items and such that weren't available when I did my initial research.

(For those still on the derail ... I think my train of thought fell off the end of the pier ... May 12 (tomorrow!) is Fibromyalgia Awareness Day. Those wanting to educate themselves about this painfully real condition that I've had for a couple decades now are invited to check out the US National Fibromyalgia Association)

I sat here for almost a hour wondering if I should post ... then decided I was sick and tired ... literally ..of people just not taking the time to look up what their friend, relative, child is dealing with .. . I suffer from chronic cluster migraines and fibro ... its so so easy for people to wonder why I dont leave the house ..take numerous meds ..have a hard time hugging my grandchildren some days ...

Trust this ... if you've gone thru sometimes years and years of doctor visits and tried all kinds of diagnosis *cause its in your head*... meds of all kinds ..which you try for a while then they decide you should be on a different one ..,ad nauseaum ... had your friends drift away because they dont understand why you always *feel bad* when they ask *how are you?* ... You might ... just maybe ... understand why we get a bit defensive when people just have either no compassion, a closed mind, or are just ignorant and rude ...

sorry ... sore subject ... truly

delete this is it is offensive or Ive hurt feelings ... cause I know how it feels ...

OMG. After an almost 2 year absence I see "thread hijacking" is alive and well. "Home Sweet Halas". You did see that the title of this thread had something to do about the game of EQ, not eveyones' "Oh, I have this....touchy-feely" rant-ta-pa-loosa? How about commenting about the Halas Housing, which so far I think is great. Not trying to be insensitive. We all have our medical/personal issues, however there are websites/forums to discuss it, not here.

Ok, on a good note, yes the player housing looks good, I will not deny that. But this is really burning me up, for the love of pie!! Can we PLEASE get something besides the same old, worn out copied-and-pasted guild halls? I would've figured Kelethin was a harsh lesson learned. I mean, when you walk into this little bitty acorn, and then you're suddenly in a 40,000 sq. ft. QEYNOS mansion (with a view of Antonica to boot) ... well that just *destroys* the immersiveness. So can we think about giving each city it's own unique guild hall in the near future? Or are we stuck with them the way they are, completely out of place in all except the two major cities?
