Test Server not Launching (4 May 2010)

<p>I've read up on the patches we've gotten this week, which is awesome and all.  But I can't get onto the server. <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>The patcher patches (well, patched the once) and all is well.  Then, regardless of whether I'm launching straight to a character (Kella or Nimari) or to Character Select, I either get the little window with the "EverQuest II" logo and the green progress bar, or I just see my Windows desktop.  And... nothin'.  I can see the EQ2 process running and kill it if I go to Task Manager, but I don't get my game.</p><p>And I wanted to go to the Freeport Festival this week. <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>Test had this issue after a patch maybe a month or two ago, I remember.  The PC I can't get in on is running Win7 64-bit.</p>

<p>Ah, so it's not just me then.</p><p>Same problems as described in the OP.  I've killed it in Task Manager twice, rebooted my machine, still nothing.  Trying to get in with the Station Launcher now.</p><p>I'm also running Win 7 Pro 64</p>

<p>I just discovered that if I leave the PC running for 20 minutes (literally!) the game will in fact launch.  I forgot I hadn't killed the process in Task Manager just now, and went to wash the dinner dishes.  When I came back from the kitchen, I found the logo / nVidia screens popping up and I went to Char Select.</p><p>So it kinda sorta works, but it's definitely not right.</p>

<p>It was slow starting up for me as well...</p><p>My partner had to try and launch it 3 times before she was able to logon.</p><p>We're both using Windows 7 Ultimate x64 as our operating systems as well...</p>

<p>Windows xp machine here, also not able to log in.  Patcher runs, get to the PLAY screen, hit the button and . . . nothing.  Was looking forward to checking out some broken New Halas quests I was stuck on.  Will leave it running in the hopes it will start. Hopefully by morning it will have logged in, lol.</p>
