So, after reading about a few classes, sounds like conjuror is a blast...how desired in grps and raids are we ? If it helps I am on Ab server.

A good conjuror will give a run for his money to an average wizard DPS-wise. So on equal skill, we are just one step behind them, but closer than we were in past expansions. In general, I'd say filling a DPS spot with a conjuror isn't a waste.

Utility-wise, our raidwide buff is very nice, both for the other DPSers and tanks. So once again, we have our usefulness on a raid. Also, Elemental Toxicity is an AA groupwide buff that gives a damage proc for 15 secs (20 secs with a red adornment), kinda similar to Peace of Mind, and can do great DPS on AE encounters, in addition to an aggro reducer for non-fighters. And the improved Sacrifice line allows us to play backup chanters when your raid is short on them (nowhere as effective, but it works - I've done that in an offtank group quite a few times in my previous guild who were often short on chanters).

If you are more into grouping than raiding, some of the AAs are also quite handy, for example the AA that gives your group a proc that has a chance to proc a stoneskin on melee attacks, like the dirge one.

Runes of Geomancy also allows for slightly more flexible offtank groups consisting of:

Off-tankCoercerTroubadorConjuror2x Others

Because Runes of Geomancy is essentially Percussion of Stone, it allows us to provide a significant defensive advantage to raid tanks without the need of a Dirge.
