While playing EQ2 this evening all of a sudden my mouse buttons quite resonding properly. I had the left button set to to turn my toons but now it won't. Also, I'm unable to single (left click) click objects in the game. Dialog boxes work just fine, but I can not select anything with a left single click. When I try and click select another player, their name flashes in the target window then disappears.

What I've done so far

1. check the mouse optins to make sure they were unchanged. - still set they were when I loaded the game.

2. Dropped to character select to see if it reset. - nope (camped to diffrent toon)

3. Restarted the entire game. - nope.

4. Dropped to desktop to check mouse. Ran Logiteck mouse program and tested mouse - just fine.

Interestingly, I can right click stuff and get the standard right click dialog for the object clicked, but the left click will not work at all. Oh, I can still run by clicking both the right & left keys and holding them down and turn/navigate.

I've missed something, but I don't know what. I hope it is an easy solution.

Regards,

Red

I sure wish it had been as simple as that, but no-joy.

Even after a full shutdown the problem still exisit. I've gone into the options and had it set the game to the defaults options. Still no-joy.

I'm still looking for a solution. Presently the game is all but unplayable.

Regards,

Red

Another symptom - when I click on an NPC I don't get the dialog, but if I click a second time, it tabs to the next NPC. each time I click it acts just like tab clicking to the next NPC.

Regards,

Red

OK, we can mark this one closed. I called tech support and they sent me an e-mail with a set of proedudes that had me delete a number of files then start the launcher and re-load them. Cured the problem.

Regards,

Red

If anyone else is having this problem, then these are the files mentioned, though:

cache foldereq2_recent.inieq2_default.iniEverQuest2.exee q2.iniAs well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.iniSt ationname_characters.ini

All of those should be in your base Everquest 2 folder.
