Something that I noticed over the weekend while leveling up an alt - Pure Awe doesn't reapply properly to already mezzed mobs. I was using the expert version of Pure Awe 2 on both solo and heroic blue con mobs. Mostly in Everfrost, and I found that it would apply properly on first cast, however if you recast it on the same group while the first application was still running only the mob that you targeted would have the duration refresh. All the others in the group would run the original spell duration then the spell would expire a second or two later. It was not a resist issue because I tested it on about 20 separate groups and I was able to replicate it exactly on each pull.

It blocks all indirect AE even itself. You need to either time it very well, or single target mez after the initial mez.

What Jesdry said is correct, but I'll expand a bit more. All mesmerization spells include the component of "Prevents AOE (except direct)". So what happens is the one you have targeted gets remezed, since it's direct, and the rest of the group ignores the effect since it's indirect. I personally use a streamlined custom maintained spell window that only shows the icon of the spell, no text associated with it, and then shows the duration remaining in xx.y format as well as amount of ward, number of reactives, etc for the spells that second aspect is relevant on. Then it's just a matter of watching the count down timer and recasting pure awe such that the spell will complete casting right after the prior one wears off. If you're concerned about cutting it too close then cast your encounter stun to hit right after mes wears off, and use the stun time to cast pure awe again.

Makes sense, thanks for the replies and tips. It'd be nice if they changed it to except mezz from that but I assume it's always been this way so I can easily learn to work around it as well.
