New Halas and the zone of Frostfang Sea are now on Test and Test Copy! Please assemble any feedback and bugs that you may find with the Gwenavyne’s Cove content of Frostfang Sea in this thread; quests, population, etc. It is the second quest camp of the zone. This should help us keep it all as organized as possible.

Thank you, everyone!

~Kaitheel

Just a word of caution:

Complete the quest "Ride Upon the Gwenevyn II" before you get the quest "Beets the Alternative". If you get Beets before you complete Ride, you will be prevented from completing Ride until you delete Beets from your quest journal.

I didn't test if completing Beets will outright gate you from completing Ride, or not.

To me it feels like there just aren't enough grizzly cubs for the quest Bear Bottoms to go around, unless I'm looking in the wrong place. I'm looking in the vicinity of where The Blizzard Grizzly Alpha spawns.

For the quest "The Absent Effigy" about how many of those frigid whirlstorms should I need to kill before the quest updates? I think i've slain about 20 or 30 so far, and no update.

Having trouble with the 'snowpack' mobs around here. Everytime I fight them the encounter constantly keeps breaking and resetting.I'm also noticing a lot of dialogue issues in the camp. As an example, in the quest Pelted the dialogue says that Flibbit made you a new pair of boots, you thank him for the boots, and your journal says you got a paor of boots... but, the actual reward (as a templar, anyway) was a bracelet. Two others in the camp (one of them was the guy who ports back to pilgrim's landing - forgot to note the other) talk about giving me potions, but they don't.

The quest little lost froglok got stuck for me. I was grouped, we both clicked and talked to the froglok, but my quest did not progress to the return stage. My groupmates quest worked as expected. I had the froglok following me but had to delete the quest and start again to proceed.

Intended or fixable?

"To The Great Shelf" isn't working. I have the quest and it says to make sure Splorpy is ready to leave, I hail Flibbit and ask is Splorpy is ready and he says he is and the little guy pops in front of me but the quest doesn't update, I took him to the great shelf and can't find Flibbit. I found Blorpisa but no Flibbit. Deleted quests and tried again and the same, can't get quest to update. /bugged

What's up with the Plate offerings for quest rewards?!?

I've looked at all the armor choices (I really, really wanted that [Ice Spelled Hat] but it's for mages only ) and from what I can tell for the plate wearers are kinda screwed, they get a mix-mash of 3-4 different colors/designs. A pale blue green to a bright purple. Plate has all old armor graphics instead of the newer 'halas' themed ones like the Leather, Cloth & Chain which doesn't look very chainy ..

The [Frost-Touched Pauldrons], [Chestpiece], & [Greaves] are a royal purple color. As far as I could see, they didn't get any boots, gloves, bracer or Helm for it.

The [Basic Cold Iron Helm] & [Basic Cold Iron Pauldrons] are the same sea green color & style. Again, they seemed to be missing a full set.

The [Icestorm Greaves] & [Icestorm Breastplate] are the same deep ocean blue & similar style to the [Basic Cold Iron Helm & Pauldrons]. Missing the coordinating pieces ..

The [Basic Cold Iron Gloves] & [Basic Cold Iron Boots] are the same teal & similar style to [Frost-Touched Pauldrons &etc]. Again .. missing pieces ..

They are all mix-match of classes as well. Sometimes the healers by themselves others Clerics & Crusaders & some list all the plate wearers.

---------

[Ice Spelled Wraps] have the T5 Handcrafted Strengthened Leather bracer graphic

At the end of the quest "Pelted" Flibbit Quagmarr says he has made you a pair of boots. The completed quest text in your journal also says he gave you boots.

What he actually gives you is a choice of two bangles. The one I took is called the "Bracelet of Old Blessings".

I don't think this is the only one of Flibbit's rewards that doesn't amtch his text, either.

"To the Great Shelf" bugs if you do it as a conjuror with a pet. It worked fine once I dismissed the pet.

While I had custody of Splorpy and no way to get rid of him, I discovered you can rename him using r-click/Pet Options.

I was also able to take him on a sightseeing tour around Qeynos.

*shame* ..

I've lost little Splorpy! Not that it matters much since his father has apparently abandoned him to my care but still there is shame on my honor for losing that stupid frog kid. It's the great tragedy of '81 all over, when I inadvertently BBQ'd a couple dozen baby frogs .. o' the horror! and shame! *snickers* ... I mean .. *cries* ..

Seriously .. I'm guessing he depops after awhile of not finding his father and updating the quest. His father is MIA on the Great Shelf area ..

The grizzlies have too many HP and killing them is tedious.

I killed the whirlwind mobs for 2 and a half levels before the effigy would drop, I'd suggest increasing the drop rate drastically.

Most of the kill quests seem to require 10 kills. 10 kills on something like this just kind drags, especially when the mobs take forever for some classes to kill, like the grizzlies. This makes the questing tedious.

The named rolling stone on the beach, in contrast, has too few hp. He goes down like a chump for a ^named.

This whole area is really kind of tedious and not fun right now.

Having to run back and forth for FOUR of the cubs for "The Icemanes Commeth" is just a pain. It's quite a long distance with no run speed at low level. I could see maybe doing this for 1-2 cubs, but 4 just made me want to cry a little

Yay for updating the Icemanes quest!

However, the "a snowpack" mobs are bugged. If you attack them they keep resetting. Plus, they are not updating the "An essential ingredient" (from Blorpisa Bogchild) quest for me.

However, it is bugged for quite a few, and it seems in most of the cases having a pet or being in a group is causing the problem. (Same problems happen with the first quest, fining Splorpy as well.)

I finished the quests in the area AFAIK, but there is no quest to send me somewhere else or any indication of where I am to go next. All I have is the idea of maybe going past the snowcat area to find the entrance to New Halas that I got from reading the previous quests.

This will confuse a new player, especially if they stuble across the entrance to New Halas that is nowhere near where the quests are sending you to look for it.

EDIT: After coming out of New Halas, I did get the quest to escort Splorpy to his father only to not find his father and while trying to figure out where he could be and if I was in the right area, Splorpy despawned.
