Is Test-Copy going to be reset back to PvE anytime soon? Or is it remaining PvP for the forseeable future?

There is a massive open-pvp change that is upcoming with GU56 that Timetravelling and Olihin have alerted players to as incoming soon, so Test-copy will likely be pvp-enabled until that round of testing is complete.

We will be working out a schedule as to when the test_copy server will be pvp vrs pve. We are working it out now and will get back to you guys shortly.

Hopefully it will not change over to PvE until after the next GU. There are some pretty large PvP changes incoming and we need the chance and time to give those changes the time in a test environment before they go live.

Trust me we know that the pvp stuff needs testing. But then again the pve stuff does too. We will try to balance it where both get equal testing.

A lot of PvErs are intimidated by PvP; it's not the game style they prefer. Likewise there are, sadly, PvPers (and PvP-minded PvEers) who take delight in ganking the unwary PvEers. Those gankers also don't care that it perpetuates the the impression some have of the mentality of PvPers.

I hope the schedule of when it will be PvP-enabled and when it will be PvE only is not only fair to all playstyles but is posted prominently and adhered to.

Why does mostly 1-20 PvE content need to be tested on Test-Copy?

Silat

The 1-20 can easily be tested on test copy but raid zones cannot.

Test_copy should be PvE for this weekend at least. We will check it out on monday and see if we need to enable it to PvP for testing anything. We will give some warning before we change it again.

Gninja wrote:

The 1-20 can easily be tested on test copy but raid zones cannot.

So there is no longer a stable population on Test? If that is the case then the main argument to not allow copies to the Test server is now invalid so copy raiding guilds there and let Test do it's job. PvP keeps getting left out of the test cycle almost completely. I'm sure I do not need to give specific examples of this.

Silat

I've been watching 'in testing' for a while since I got my toon over there. I'm waiting for an opportunity to test the new 'PvP' parts ... specifically the ant/cl stuff...but no info has been posted on this board about it going to PvP. The only time I saw it flagged PvP was while it was locked.

Is this going to be another example of rushing ill planned PvP content live without proper testing and/or ignoring the feedback recieved by those that DID take the time to test it out?

I'm fairly certain this update will be pushed to live within the next week or two. How thorough do you think the testing will be in a two or three day time frame? I must say that I am highly disappointed in the attention this 'added content' has been given in favor of testing 'CLOSED INSTANCE RAID CONTENT'.

hey nagga randomhero here had a gm tell me pvp wont be enabled till they get the raid testing done which means all of you in raid guilds need to get together and test that crap and yeah i have a feeling pvp update will be pushed live yet again with little to no testing or feedback
