We know there are going to be tournaments. Server vs server, guild vs guild, group vs group and individuals, are my guesses. Though I haven't seen anything specific announced. Assuming I'm right though. Do you think a player equipped in BG gear will stand a chance against an equally skilled player in raid gear and adorns? How much do you think raid gear will affect all levels of tournament play? Such as server vs server and group vs group.I'm concerned a character like mine (bg gear only) will always be stuck in lower brackets because raiders, in raid gear, will dominate. If that's the case I'll probably just skip tournaments altogether and just pug bg and pve as I do now. It's fun so no reason to quit once I have maxed out this char. Besides there will be other tiers to play in.

At the moment yes raid gear has a substantial advantage in pvp.

We'll have to see with the next update if soe can close the gap.

Im guessing that they wont even consider tournaments until most of the bugs are fixed and the complaining about various imbalances is dealt with.

They dont need the very first tournament of their shiny new bgs to be won by some shady group setup or someone exploiting a mechanic.

Uhm, I have raid gear and I switch it out for BG gear when doing level 90 BGs. Toughness is win IMO.

Think its really going to depend on class as well, I have a raid geared defiler and she just cant survive in BGs. I ran BGs in my under-geared under-spelled alt for better survival (Tso T3 gear and expert spells coercer). Ive seen some hard-bottom defilers in there, but they have BG gear. As the BGs are now, youre already fighting people in raid gear and if youre doing ok now, you should still be ok. This is not to fuel the fire on scouts, but some of them take me out in half a second and they could probably do it naked lol. A well skilled player will always do better no matter what gear hes got. Its not exactly the same thing, but in EQ our raid guild took in this guy who had complete crap gear, you put him into pvp and the guy could kill ALL of them.

i think with blue adorns, bg gear will be clearly better for pvp

I haven't completed my BG set yet so raid geared have the upperhand even if the gear was balanced. Once I complete the set maybe I'll perform better with more practice. Hopefully the blue adorns level the field so that neither pvp or raid gear is dominant. Diversity in gear selection is always nice.
