Ok, I play an SK and don't really have many alts (zero to be honest). I sometime get tricked into leading a raid or talk into comeing to one but really i do not like raiding. yeah it sucks that the end gear forces you to raid. its like you don't know anyone or don't like it you are stuck with a half good toon. you got the skill and knowledge just not the gear.

with the introduction of BG's i was so stooked. I thought to myself "YES!!! finally a way that i can get halfway decent gear without haveing to wait for 23 other ppl to decide to get together". But sadly I found out the one thing lacking that still makes me turn stuff down.

Crit mit.

Yes i know raiders should get the better gear and thus the lvl 90 raid gear is stacked with crit mit. But why not have some on the BG gear. Not nearly as much as raid gear, but enough to survive most instances. It takes a couple of top notch healers to keep my butt alive in VD3 fighting cella. There are other instance mobs who can tear through my BG gear like paper if they wanted to.

like with how the toughness on the BG gear is BG zone only, how about a crit mit % that works in PvE only and not in BG. just the opposite. this is just to give us lonley wonderers of norrath some kind of hope that we are not doomed to forever be useless to the world.

i saw you are coming out with new blue adornments for bg gear, how about making a few of those give PvE crit mit???? we sacrifice the adornment spot on a BG piece for a PvE bonus means we will not be as good in BG and we will not be raid gear'd in PvE. but at least we will still be able to enjoy the content as more than a wet paper bag.

Thanks for thinking about this idea.

Actually, I like this idea. But then again, I've been complaining about the disappearance of Crit Mit for some time now. I think the 'crit mit' adorn would probably be a viable option for some of us. This way we get to have 'something' in BG's but allows us to keep from 'double farming' for gear. SF really is the most backwards time sink I've seen to date for gear progression really.

There are legendary drops in the heroic zones with crit mit as well as yellow adorns with crit mit. Just sayin'.

And I think the jury is still out on whether or not you even need crit mit to run those instances at all.

One of the devs mentioned that full toughness grants roughly 60% crit mit not sure if that was only on pvp servers or what . And yeah i dont want to upgrade my level 80 set due to the 90 set not haveing crit mit and barely any more mit think its 20 mit more per piece on the 90 bg set compared to my 80 pvp set.

TBH you don't need crit mit for instances.

While it doesn't really affect me as a raider, technically I agree that some limited amount of crit mit on BG gear wouldn't be such a bad idea.

The main issue is all the BG haters who would cry bloody murder because they believe that their chosen upgrade path should be the only upgrade path for PVE gear.

These people seem to disregard the following things:

There is no WoE equivalent for gearing up new/returning players in crit mit gear. This could help fill the gap.

2 of the 3 BG maps are raid encounters.

BG is a huge timesink, roughly equivalent to any other method of attaining gear(TBH it took me more time and hassle to attain my BG gear than my SF raid gear which is mostly easybutton candyland a few hrs a week)

BG's run 24/7 for the most part...this is why people gear up "so fast". In reality they are just playing super long hours. If the same people could raid in PVE 24/7 they'd be wearing full sets of PVE raid gear already.

Tradeskills reward some very awesome useful items many of which you must be a high level tradeskiller to use or obtain. (Earring of solstice, tinkered items, various clickies etc...) Just because you choose not to tradeskill doesn't mean other people's efforts should be less rewarded. Same applies to BG.

No one is prohibited from participating in BG's. If you CHOOSE not to participate that's your thing, don't try to diminish the rewards for the people willing to put the in the work to attain them.

I'm just playing devil's advocate, but yeah.

I was a bit disappointed but not really all that surprised.

I was wearing the level 90 mastercrafted armor and a single healer kept me up through the whole zone. Perhaps your healers aren't a good as they'd like you to believe?
