My mystic is not my main, but was sort of a dual main for most of TSO. Now that SF is here I'm lvl'ing her up and will probably end up on her for quite a few raids again.

I'm looking over the AA's and reading the forums, and Im having trouble figuring out what would work best together (without spending lots of plat to spec-try-respec-try-respec.. etc.) So I have some questions and if anyone could help out that would be great! I have 193 AA's at the moment to play with, but hopefully that will grow as soon as I start heavily questing in SF.

1. I hear some people say how dog is still worthwhile, while others say no. Anyone done more testing on this and know for sure?

2. I hear talk of how Spiritual Leadership is awesome, but do I need to have a decent dps spec along with it to make it trigger? If so, where do you take the AA from to start with?

3. If you do take Spiritual Leadership and dog is still worth having, what do you give up? I <3 my reuse speed and RoA, but can we do without with the reuse on the new gear? How about the cures and Coagulate? I've seen Coagulate save people's booty many, many times... I am reluctant to get out of it.

4. Is the rez line worth it? I had it down to Spirit Dance, and used it alot, but in the new content is the extra range worthwhile, or the cast speed neccessary with the cast speed on the new gear?

5. I love the removal of stun from Oberon... yay! But is it any good or just cost more power than its worth? Is it worth putting points into now?

6. Mystic cure upgrades... are they worth it? Does the "small ward" or even the "large ward" after cure really do anything? How about the dmg proc?

7. Anything else thats new, or just "you really need to know this..." since SF came out? I really love this char, and want her to be the best she can. I aint too proud to beg or ask for help, lol.

Ok, I think thats all for now. Thank you so much in advance for any help/advice you can give! And I apologize if some of this was answered in other threads. I did some digging and didn't see what I was looking for.

1. I love the doggie line. On so many raid encounters I see the AE miss my group and I just toss him a virtual biscuit. The cure proc is nice to have, but can't be used as reliable curing.

2. You must be able to proc tribal rage for spiritual leadership to work. Other than that it's not really necessary to get anything else. Just remember to turn on autoattack when the encounter allows it.

3. There's no reason not to get it all. This is my recommended spec, up to the point where your reuse gets high enough to remove the points from cure reuse reduction and put them into RoA duration instead.

4. Rez line is worth it if you have the points. Spirit dance is fantastic because it takes 8 targets cross group. The enhanced range is good too. The rest is kind of meh. But it's really not that much worse than the cure line. For raiding I would probably take this before the cure line. Immunities and group cure ward proc is nice, but rest is kind of useless.

5. Putting more than the necessary points into Oberon is a waste. It's not up often enough to be used as a regular ward and its ability to prevent spikes works the same with 0 points as with 10 points in it. Avoid.

6. If you take this, put 5 points into Cure curse cast speed, ST cure ward, group cure ward and balm ward and ofcourse take Immunities, the real reason for going down that tree. The other options, Reactive DS proc and larger ward when health below 30%.. I don't know what they were smoking. They're useless.

7. Basic raid tip. Keep your group ward up at all times. Recast it when it recycles if it has taken damage or is about to expire. If used that way it will almost always be your in your top 3 parsing heal spells. Also, don't forget to use Prophetic Ward on encounters with AE Nox. There are quite a few in SF. It's really effective.

Don't waste points in Runic armor and torpor upgrade (new ones in mystic tre) if your potency is above 40 and you have your myth buff. Enchance Bolster is good. So is stampede.

Welcome back on the mystic. I hope you'll enjoy it

If so, where do you take the AA from to start with?

There is absolutely no need to DPS for Spiritual Leadership to show it's true value. Keep in mind, proc'ing Rage is actually easier when you are taking damage than when dealing it. I think it's 33% chance to proc when taking damage, 10% when dealing damage.

Coagulate is just an excuse. It does take a sort of "leap of faith" to discard the dog and Coagulate, but it's worth it. I gotta tell you, getting rid of the dog was a great relief to me. Coagulate may occasionally save someone, but Spiritual Leadership absolute will save everyone in your group all the time. Spiritual Leadership is worth Coagulate and Aura of Warding *combined*.

4. Is the rez line worth it? I had it down to Spirit Dance, and used it alot, but in the new content is the extra range worthwhile, or the cast speed neccessary with the cast speed on the new gear?

I still like the rez line, Spirit Dance can be a real win for your raid team sometimes. I also like the range and radius augmentations to our rez spells. Well, ok, I don't "love" the rez line, but I find that I get more benefit from the rez line than I did from the "Cure" line. And in that tree, you just don't have a lot of great choices once you've gone through Augmenting and Combat.

5. I love the removal of stun from Oberon... yay! But is it any good or just cost more power than its worth? Is it worth putting points into now?

I think it is worth it, mainly because . . . what else are you going to spend the points on? I think Oberon is really good now. When I'm in the OT group, it's a great buffer for those times when the MT goes down and the OT has to pick it up quickly. Generally, the OT will still be sitting in offensive stance or something and it takes him a couple seconds to get defensive. Oberon gives a bit of buffer while he does that. I've also run in the MT group and like the use of Oberon right at the start of the fight as more buffer while the mob is getting debuffed.

6. Mystic cure upgrades... are they worth it? Does the "small ward" or even the "large ward" after cure really do anything? How about the dmg proc?

Yuck. I tried really hard in beta to like these AA's. They simply don't pan out well at all.

Thank you so much for all your input guys! These are exactly the types of answers I was looking for.

I respec'd last night and got rid of dog AA's and got Spiritual Leadership... I have to say I'm impressed. It did at minimum 6% and at max 10% of my heal parse on most names in Palace last night. And thats just the first night of me playing with it. I kept Coagulate, since right now we still have a few people with lower resists/crit mit/ lvl that just seem to spike down without warning, and I saw Coagulate save their butt no less than 10 times last night. Of course it could just be me needing to get back on my game and into "healer mode" lol.

Thanks for the responses, and keep them coming if anyone has anything to add!

I think spiritiual leadership is a given, everything else varies with your personal tastes and whether or not you are pulling mobs in 'hard' mode.

Many are discarding the dog, indeed on some encounter i don't even send it (so it proc nothing). But the dog add a 20% haste to the group.

As far as i know the big item haste do not stack , but the small does, and for sure you can get any buff you want on top.

If people are capped i may remove the dog.

you are crazy if the reason you use the dog is for haste. that AE prevention proc is pure gold. i always have dog spec, and there is only one fight I can't use it on effectively which is haephus (sp) wing 2.

If so, where do you take the AA from to start with?

This is simply a must have period. base 30% chance for it to proc when you take damage, 10% chance with every melee attack (CA's included) yes it rocks.

3. If you do take Spiritual Leadership and dog is still worth having, what do you give up? I <3 my reuse speed and RoA, but can we do without with the reuse on the new gear? How about the cures and Coagulate? I am reluctant to get out of it.

Only 2 end line under the Shaman tree I have are group cure reuse and Spiritual leadership (Ancestral Channeling also of course). I need to do the math with my gear again, I may eventually end up not needing the Group Cure in raid due to my gear (may even be there already just lazy atm to check) if so I would then go to extend the duration of RoA. basically I am Str, Agility and Wis Spec'd.

4. Is the rez line worth it? I had it down to Spirit Dance, and used it alot, but in the new content is the extra range worthwhile, or the cast speed neccessary with the cast speed on the new gear?

Depends on raid. My raid no. The dirges rez period. They rez fast and with people getting up with 100% health and power. They also cast faster than me and if I go to cast Spirit dance the next AE will likely spank my group due to lack of wardage.

5. I love the removal of stun from Oberon... yay! But is it any good or just cost more power than its worth? Is it worth putting points into now?

Oberon is great for transitions. If the OT/third tank needs to suddenly pick up a mob he has the buffer he needs since he was likely in Offensive stance and is wearing more offensive oriented gear. The mit buff from bolster is meh at this point due to the gear that the tanks are wearing.

6. Mystic cure upgrades... are they worth it? Does the "small ward" or even the "large ward" after cure really do anything? How about the dmg proc?

I am pretty much in the "what do I spend the points on?" here. I don't rez so adding 2-3% (depending on the fights) to my heals work. Also the casting speed on cure curse helps on fights like Maalus hard mode and on some fights immunization is also a benefit. yeah situation but since I don;t rez might as well have something situationally worth it.

Really not sure where to tell you to yank points from, I was 200 AA at launch. I would say however that if you were looking to move points around get your Shaman tree done first at least with Spiritual Leadership. Let the Rez line wait. The rez line is nice if you need to rez BUT that will not make or break your group. Spiritual leadership can indeed do just that.
