"Error initializing Station Launcher"

<p>Hey, I just got this game a few days ago and it was working great. I downloaded the trial to see what it was about, played that for a few days then bought membership. Three days after that, when i tried to launch the game, the window popped up as normal, but then goes to:</p><p>Sorry, there was an error initializing Station Launcher. Please make sure you are connected to the internet and try again.</p><p>I was indeed connected, so i went to the website to find some info, but some pages of the website wouldn't let me on, would bring me to the google page: Oops! This link appears to be broken.</p><p>I uninstalled the station launcher to try to reinstall it to fix it, and now pop ups come up when i run it, one is: Error within CheckUpdateNeeded, the other is unable to load application files from C:/program files (x86)/Sony Online Entertainment/Station Launcher/Main. Do you want to Retry?</p><p>When that didn't work i uninstalled the game.. dumb move, because i forgot the part of the website for downloading the trial wouldn't let me on. So i'm in a pickle.. lol</p><p>ANY help would be appreciated.</p>

<p>Are you using any type of firewall on that computer?  If so, it seems likely that the firewall is blocking one of the files used by the game.  Please open the exception list for your firewall and delete any entries that contain the words Everquest 2, EQ2, Launchpad, or Voiceservice.  Then rerun the patcher(right click an run as administrator if using Windows 7 or Vista).  Whenever prompted make sure to select 'allow'.  That should refresh the firewall entries and will correct the problem in most cases.  Let us know if the problem persists at that point.</p>

<p>   I am getting this same message</p><p>Sorry, there was an error initializing LaunchPad. Please make sure you are connected to the internet and try again.</p><p>   I am connected to the internet.  I am starting EQ as administrator.  I notice on the message above this it mentions firewall settings.  I've done nothing to my firewall settings and I have had no trouble running EQ2  for the last 2 months since I installed  Windows 7.</p><p>  Anyone have an idea how to fix this?</p><p>thanks,</p><p>Nyliad</p><p>Crushbone</p>

<p>Tried launching the game after turning off my firewall and still getting the same error. This just started tonight. I was playing the game yesterday on the same computer with no issues.</p>

<p>I don't have information on the maintenance of Station Launcher.  We are phasing the service out and would like to transition our customers to the EQ2 LaunchPad instead.</p><p><a href="http://launch.soe.com/eq2" target="_blank">[EQII] LaunchPad</a></p>
