Mine locks up after you hit PLAY, it just sits there saying Starting...

that fix didnt work either.

Close the Launcher and then nuke the two files. The fix posted above worked for me on Windows 7.

Just to say fix worked for me too under Windows 7.

Just tried it again this morning, and its still locking up. I log in, it loads something from 0-100%, then I click PLAY, and it loads, says starting, loads, says starting over and over untill it locks on starting.

don't know what's up with SOE, everything is suddenly secret secret...

if they wish to bale on streaming client support then they should just say so and post a link to the full client so people can move on... but to be all secretive about it is just wrong....

the other days updates were different between the launcher and the forums...the launcher included additional nerfing information while someone chose to remove that nerfing info from the forums post...

and it just continues like this...like two heads fighting between each other ...one reaching out to the player community while the other hides in the shadows and tries to draw a pretty picture.

Before the Streaming client, there were MANY posts from people complaining about the time it took to install the game before they could get in. So they designed a way for those that wish to play ASAP.

If you wish to download the full client ahead of time, you can find the Station Launcher link in this Knowledge Base.

[TECH] Station Launcher FAQ

Also I have heard rumors that they are working on a new launcher as well....

Shareana wrote:

Also I have heard rumors that they are working on a new launcher as well....

Yet another laucher? Oh please god no... I have to deal with enough confused people with multiple installs due to all the different launchers already

The solution posted in the top of this thread worked for me. Whatever the issue is, it seems to have to do with that file (maybe it's trying to update it, but then can't because the patcher is actively using it? The original EQ2 patcher seemed to use a two-stage approach to update the launcher first to avoid that very issue)
