I've seen a lot of posts from people who want ever increasingly convoluted and complicated systems implemented in battlegrounds, from moderators, points systems to influence the random group organiser, ways of capitualating lost matches, etc.

I have two very simple suggestions which I think have been made elsewhere which I think would give the greatest improvement for the least cost.

A) Make the flag in Ganak do some damage like the relic in Gears. I think this is better than a time limit as in a stand off the time limit would just mean whoever got their opponents flag first would get to capture it, which defeats the point of not being able to capture a flag if yours has been taken. Making it cause damage (maybe an increasing dot so you cant just heal through it forever) would end stand-offs and mean the outcome would be down to the actions of the two sides.

B) Reduce the amount of points needed to win in Den. 1500 is too much. Once you've got 300 point lead it's almost impossible to get it back, so reduce to 1200 or 1000.

I've got too much frosting between my toes as it is....

SD is very simple. If you own the center, you win. Period. Oh, sure, it's "possible" to win without holding the center, but frankly, the likelihood of doing so is remote in the ultimate extreme.

I understand you want your gear. But........

Battlegrounds is about more than gear. It's about actually playing battleground matches for the sport in the match. I wish people would stop asking to cut the timers. Start having fun in matches and you wont ask. Try sticking together as force of numbers wins in most situations. You wont care about time as much if your team is owning or you get into a BEST match ever and to full raids collide and a battle rages for 10 mins with hardly any death. Soon people will catch on to the design. Tanks will taunt heals will heal taunting tanks dps will hang out at or near the tank and own with no fear of being owned. When this happens we will all be able to play a much more chess style strategic game of battlegrounds in Ganak/smuggs. I dont play battlegrounds just for gear. I play for the change of pace from pve and the challenge it presents. Start communicating with your team and working together and you will find your times in bg's well spent.
