Ok, so I changed to your new loader, and when I try to bypass it with my direct shortcut to the game I get this error:

This means that I have to go through the loader everytime I want to play, also I cannot change back to the old loader. It keeps making update for serval hours, seems like it is downloading the whole game again.

Also, I cannot run 2 different accaunts with the new loader GRRRR! Really annoying.

Here is my Dx-Diag: http://eboz.dk/DxDiag-eboz.txt

I have tried:

Run as administrator

Updated GFX driver

Really need help

Greetings,

It sounds like the old launcher you're using is pointing to the wrong folder. Right click that shortcut and select 'properties'. The 'start in' section will show where that file is pointing to. If that's now where the new launcher is starting in then you'll want to go the folder that contains the new download and move the launcher program to that folder. You can then create a new shortcut so you can use that copy instead.

I have opened the old lanucher from my EQ2 folder. This has worked for ages. But when I changed to the new patcher, and did not like it because of the error, and how slow it was. I am not able to change back without a 3-4 hours patch or something.

Great, now I even can't get the new launcher to start. The start button just keeps flickering from start the game to updating (99%)

Update:

Eboz, any chance you did your install through Steam? When I told it to a do a local integrity check, it found 40 Files that were not correctly updated. I am processing those now in hopes it rectifies the issue. Will update once complete.

==========

I am experiencing the Exact same thing as Eboz.

Either Launcher or Launchpad, which attempt to start EQ2, straight from the directory where it is installed, after clicking the PLAY button, it just continues to update and update, cycling between 98-99%, then Play button briefly appears, then starts over. If you hit Stop at any point, it tells you that it needs an update of 339.9KB.

I was ingame All day, shutdown to move to a new location, brought it up at 10:50 EST and have been in this mode since.

Any assistance would be Greatly appreciated. My guild was expecting my immediate return and now they probably feel I abandoned them.

Thanks in advance.

Make a copy of your EQ2 folder (very important).

2. Uninstall streaming client.

3. Uninstall regular client.

4. Delete EQ2 folder if it's still there.

4. Reinstall EQ2 from your game discs (that's the only way you can get that old style launcher now, otherwise you have to have the Station client or the Streaming client).

5. Copy the contents of the paks, music and UI folders from the backup EQ2 to the newly installed EQ2 and then re-run patcher.

6. If everything goes fine (you've copied over the bulky files, so it shouldn't take long to patch now), delete the eq2 backup folder.

I'm not sure why you'd want to try switching to the streaming client when you had a fully installed copy of EQ2, but there you go.

I did not install through steam.

I have never downloaded anything from SOEs site. I have used this folder since I started playing eq2 back in 2005. Theise new launcers appered after xpac hitted. What is the difference on launder.exe and launchpad.exe? I have no clue, but they both suddenly appered in my folder.

I have a backup on my laptop that I am prolly gonna use now, since no one knows what is wrong here :/
