I just came back after a few months away, and decided to finish leveling my old SK. I am only 66 at the moment, and I usually 2box with my dirge since most days I don't have enough time to try actually looking for real groups on a dying server.

My main question is...can I really accomplish much with this setup? Will I be able to do instances with it? Keep in mind I'm not pulling max dps from the dirge, mostly just the buffs and spam some CA macros since I do it the "right" way with 2 keyboards and I don't multitask THAT well.

Should I ditch the dirge for an inquis/fury/something else?

thanks for any input.

The buffs from the dirge will be very useful to you. If you're able to get the dirge's debuffs off in a fight (Clara's and the disease one if you can) then the SK's dps output will go up quite considerably. Add in the stoneskin proc and parry buff and the SK will be even more survivable than he already is.

So far as instancing goes, though... since RoK I know some instances are possible without a healer, but tbh I wouldn't want to try really. But then, I've got crap gear and don't raid, so. . . casual city here

My wife and I just started out brand new to EQ2. I am set on playing an SK, and she is more of a caster oriented person but she does not like to heal. That being said she rolled a warlock. Would a necro/wizard have been a better choice? I went with the warlock for the AE's that I've heard they get. Seems that since I'm an AE tank it would be beneficial to have an AE caster to duo with.

Thoughts?

SK's do disease damage. Warlocks do about half poison and half disease.. and it's their ae's that tend to be disease, while the single target spells tend to be poison. Though with the consolidation to "noxious" that might not mean anything anymore . . . . But anyway.. you'll have a lot of dps from both toons in AE, and since the SK self-heals with the lifetaps and Reaver AA, you should tear through a lot of content just fine. There will still be times you'll wish you had a healer in certain dungeons vs named, perhaps, but other than that it sounds like a fun duo.
