I'm just getting back to eq2. I clicked on reinstall from the website, downloaded, opened, installed, and everything seemed fine until after I logged in and tried to update.

Then I got the following error message:

An error occurred communicating with the system.Error: 202 id IDS_MINSPEC_Video param:IDS_Video: VendorID=0x80EEDeviceID=0xBEEF

Error Code 2002

I never even got to start downloading the actual game

Can anyone help me out?

I actually looked online for a couple hours for that specific error, and found a way around it. I just downloaded station launcher from a link instead of going through the only available download from everquest2.com.

After about 9 hours of downloading and updating, I clicked on launch game and got this error:

EverQuestII has detected an uncrecoverable error and must shutdown.

<verify>

E:/live/eq2/framework/core/devices/src/DirectX9RenderDevice.cpp

(168

Can someone please help me with this error code? Or give me any insight?

if you are installing on a windows 7 or vista system go to Microsoft and download the latest webupdate for directx, you need the optional modules.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...7D-85FC422D1388

Download the directx end user runtime package, install it. It will not harm the directx load that is already on the machine, it just adds the required runtime modules. That being said, any install can cause a problem, it is always a good idea to checkpoint the system before installing and OS updates.

I went into options, game folder, and deleted the file that looks at computer specifications. After that it bypassed the problem altogether. Hope this helps someone! Lelania
