This was linked earlier today and I didnt get a screenshot unfortunatly. They said it was from the Beckett Magazine for this month and was a staff similliar to the Godking's 2-handed weapon. The appearance of it was okay I guess...but what got me interested was the refrence to the Shissar...wonder if it is just a random occurence or if it will lead somewhere.

A limited item from a source like Beckett is almost always just a fun item for appearance. There's a cloak with Shissar in the name that came out with TSO, but it was limited to only certain players who met the pre-reqs, and plays no importance.

In most fantasy worlds, magic items are notorious for lasting a long time. You could have a sword that was constructed to the quality of a comfort crate, and it would still be around after thousands of years given the proper enchantment. Since the Shissar were on Norrath first, it makes sense that some remnants of their empire remain on Norrath, and it doesn't necessarily mean that there are still some around.

That said, I wouldn't mind it if some shissar did survive. I really wouldn't mind it if Luclin had been able to warn the Akheva somehow, and they were able to send a number of their people to Norrath to continue the species. I really don't want to go to the moon again (I'd rather the destruction of Luclin be the ultimately destructive event it was meant to be), but the Akheva were a race with an interesting background, and there's still almost an entire hemisphere of Norrath unexplored.
