View Full Version : Trial Launcher Crash?!?!? PLEASE HLEP ME!!

<p>I just downloaded the trial for everquest 2 because I wanted to try it out</p><p>I have played the trial before, so I know i have the system requirements..</p><p>Whenever I open the launcher, I press the big "Play" button, the screen goes black, I see the cursor then it says error report, send error report, or dont send report</p><p>WHAT DO I DO?!!??! I push dont send then it brings me to my desktop please help me, I wanna play!</p>

<p>That sounds like a fairly standard crash.  It would be hard to say exactly what is causing it without some additional system information, though.  You might want to post at least the first section of your DXdiag file so we can take a closer look at your system.</p><p>That said, assuming you haven't done so in a while my first suggestion will be to upgrade any graphics and sound drivers you have on that system to the most recent version.</p>

<p>ACtually, It kind of fixed itself, when the error report came up I did not hit any buttons, I just let it sit there. Then, a few seconds later the game started up...so I guess my problem is fixed, although I do appreciate your help and the support here is great <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" /></p>

Then, a few seconds later the game started up...so I guess my problem is fixed, although I do appreciate your help and the support here is great <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" /></p></blockquote><p>I've seen that a few times before where an error message pops up and if you accept it the game will close, but if you leave it alone then the game will remain open.  In most cases that seems to be caused by a firewall blocking the voice chat service.   Are you using any type of firewall on that computer?  If so, it seems likely that the firewall is blocking one of the files used by the game.  Please open the exception list for your firewall and delete any entries that contain the words Everquest 2, EQ2, Launchpad, or Voiceservice.  Then rerun the patcher(right click an run as administrator if using Windows 7 or Vista).  Whenever prompted make sure to select 'allow'.  That should refresh the firewall entries and will correct the problem in most cases.  Let us know if the problem persists at that point.</p>
