I was able to play today until the update. After that I am receiving the same message again.

I tried to log in with a desk pc and everything is ok. This error only occurs when I am working with a laptop.

Please advise what is causing this and what to do.

I thank you in advance!

Try deleting everything in lp_temp directory and repatch. This has worked before when a patch file gets messed up.

Arrg! I am having this problem too. It just keeps trying to patch but gives me this message:

There was a problem moving C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest IIlp_tempEverQuest2.exe_delta_9024_320.patched to C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest IIEverQuest2.exe. Please make sure the game is not running.

I just installed and patched the game just fine about a week ago, from the new Sentinals of Fate disks.

I tried running as administrator, no help.

I took the EQ2.exe file out of the folder and put it on my desktop then ran the patcher and it went through. I would give this a try and see if it works for you. Make sure to save it and not delete it just in case.

Removing "EQ2.exe" didnt help at all. The error message points at "Everquest2.exe", so I deleted that one, and it worked. The patch went through ok and placed a new Everquest2.exe in my directory.

Sorry about that I shouldn't have used the shortened version of the name. Just so used to typing EQ2 and not Everquest2.

I unstall everything again and was able to play yesterday but, of course, I had to reconfigurate everything ingame again (bags, bars, etc).

Today when I tried to log in I've got this message, which goes on and on, like a looping:

http://eq2.patch.station.sony.com/p.../assetdb.dll.gz failed to download.

Station Launcher will try again in 5 seconds.

I noticed that, while playing, the Station Launcher window remained on my screen. Before this error started, the Station Laucher window always disappeared when I logged in. And it still does in my other pc (desktop), where I can play without any problems so far.

Again, my laptop is a Toshiba (Qosmio), a game pc, top quality, Graphic NVidea, Windows 7.

Please advise what is happening and give me (US) the solution.

Thank you

Another point I noticed is that always when it happens, the Station Launcher starts differently. It starts scanning and the following messages appear:

1. Preparing

2. Loading Remote Manifest

3. Creating Workload

4. Update Stopped

5. Error Message: http://eq2.patch.station.sony.com/p.../assetdb.dll.gz failed to download.

Station launcher will try again after 5 seconds.

If streaming try downloading, installing and configuring the full download version - http://launcher.station.sony.com/ after you install it, right click on the icon and select compatiblity, set the all users to run as administrator. Launch the application, logon set teh language preferecne and the game download directory

I assume most of you have tried this already, but please check to make sure that you have followed these steps if you're using Windows 7 or Vista.

1. Right click on the program launch icon2. Left click on "Properties".3. In the new window that pops up click on the "Compatibility" tab.4. Under "Privilege Level" make certain that the box next to "Run this program as administrator" is checked.5. Click on "Apply" then click on "Ok".6. Right click on the icon and select "Run as Administrator"

If the problem persists at that point then it's usually a antivirus/firewall issue. Are you using any type of firewall on that computer? If so, please open the exception list for your firewall and delete any entries that contain the words Everquest 2, EQ2, Launchpad, or Voiceservice. Then rerun the patcher(right click an run as administrator if using Windows 7 or Vista). Whenever prompted make sure to select 'allow'. That should refresh the firewall entries and will correct the problem in most cases. Let us know if the problem persists at that point.
