sorry for the lame question, i'm sure it's been discussed before, but i haven't been able to find anything with any real suggestions in either this mystic forum, the trade forum, or certain other websites like eqflames.

what do you guys think would be the most helpful tradeskil for a solo leveling melee mystic?(i know i won't be a melee dps in raids at 90, i get that, i just wanna do it for fun while leveling)

i'm guessing that since the CA AA's don't have upgrades like adept/expert/master, just the 5aa's each, that none of the scholar tree's would make a huge diff on my solo(other than buff/heal upgrades). so i'm thinking one of the gear ones.

armorer? weaponsmith? maybe woodworker? woodworkers can make crushing weapons and priest shields, right? are there any armorer made shields that mystics can use at higher levels? at lower levels it seems like it's all kite shields and stuff that priests can't wear.

is there a decent amount of armorer made mail with wisdom and such that i'd be able to keep those slots up to date as i level? or would a good weapon/shield make a bigger difference while i'm leveling? and if so, whats the best trade for mystic weapons?

again sorry for bringing up a topic that i'm sure has been rehashed before, i really did try to search around a bit, and didn't come up with anything.

thanks in advance for any help!

you should find plenty of gear quest-wise and loot-wise as far as jewelry and weapons, but armor better than the MC is harder to find past level 20.

Spells from a sage would help buff and heal wise.

Potions from alchemists are nice.

Armor from an armorer will be quite helpful.

I'd say all but the potions are a must have, so sage or armorer imo. Usually you can find a moderate shield and weapon, if not you should be able to afford the one rare and payment to some woodworker or weaponsmith (between wood and metal weapons there is no consistend difference tmk, just go with whatever has the best wisdom and damage rating).

thanks for the advice! with that info, i'm thinking i'll go armorer...

it seems to make sense as that will cover the most of my gear slots while leveling.

A mystic is able to fight naked once his ward(s) are up

I honestly would not bother with any Tradeskill unless you really, really enjoy them. In which case, it shouldn't matter what adventure class you play.

I will say this: When I'm leveling an alt, the one thing I always have trouble finding is Mastercrafted armor.

Sage is your best bet. You make spells nearly every level, but gear only once every 10 levels.

thanks for the replies. i think i'm gonna go with armorer.

i know you guys are right about the sage thing, specially end game, and no mmo ever has ever managed to make crafted armor/weapons viable at the level cap for more than 'starter' tier.

but strictly during the solo leveling process, and while leveling as a melee spec, the abilities that primarily effect my damage will be upped through AA's, and then scale.

it'll be nice if i can manage to keep my armor relatively up to date.

i have all 9. in terms of what it takes to level them, here they are from easiest to hardest jus sayin: Easy Sage Alchemist Jeweler Woodworker Carpenter Armorer Weaponsmith Provisioner Hard What tradeskill you pick really shouldn't have anything to do with your adventure class. No matter what you are going to need different things from different professions, and unless you are psycho like me, you aren't going to be able to provide all 9 services. The whole point of crafting is really about economy, trading, etc. You make the items you provide and exchange or sell them to buy the items you need. Just like picking a race, pick the one you like the most and you are more likely to follow through with it.
