View Full Version : Solo, Duo, and Battlegrounds Healer - who am I?

So, I see there are a ton of posts out there asking variations of the 'what healer should I choose?' question.

This IS another one of those, with the post title's being my question.

I currently have a Mystic, Inquisitor, and Warden all leveled to the roughly the same point, with good gear and a pile of AA's. Unfortunately, doing this simply makes me like whichever one I'm on last the most, and hasn't done much for helping me to make a final decision on who will be my Main.

Like the Post title says, I solo the majority of the time, duo when my usual partner is around (and will group on occasion), and have Battlegrounds locked in my sights as an eventual goal. Raiding.. not so much.

I am a Melee guy, always have been, and always will be. I want to put out good DPS while being a Healer, and enjoy what I'm doing. I want to be a viable contender in Battlegrounds when the time comes, and I want to be a good groupmate when in groups.

Who am I? Opinions (and details) wanted!

If you want to put out good DPS, roll something other than a healer. All healers can DPS to an extent, but none of them will ever be mistaken for "good" DPS.

Just to keep it as simple as possible..

I'd recommend inquisitor. (I have a level 88 Inquisitor and a level 80 Mystic)

My phrasing was poor, I intended something more along the lines of ' would like to put out Good DPS in terms of a Melee Healer'.. I by no means believe Healers do Scout damage, or should.

I only meant it in relative terms, and only relative to other Healers.

Sorry if it came across wrong.

Inquisitor is probably a good fit for you. Steadfast is really nice for what you want to do (especially Battlegrounds).

Druids seem pretty uber for BGs. If any of you run into an extremely hard to kill warden, it's probably me. lol

Wardens are really hard to kill in my experience, though I don't know if they do as much damage as inquisitors or mystics. Mystics seem like they can do really high spike damage, probably due to procs like Stampede and bear claws and so on.

I never try to DPS in them, so I couldn't say for sure on that. I do use both group cures like crazy though and Tunare's Grace has gotta be nice DPS considering how many AEs get spammed. hehe

Would I be right in assuming, in terms of DPS,

Inquisitor > Mystic > Warden?

I know from reading a LOT of old posts that this was the general consensus prior to SF. What I'm wondering, is after the WIS changes, AA changes and everything else went through, is this still the case?

It would probably be some combination of mystic, fury, inquisitor. I don't know which is the best of those 3 though.

pure DPS (blue = melee DPS based; red = spell DPS based) would be as follows:

Fury > Inquis > Mystic > Warden > Templar ~= Defiler

Go with a warden 100%

Wardens are the best for healing most group content. They are also the best for healing most situations in BGs. They also have moderate melee DPS and good power regen with their epic/myth. Overall, they are not far behind mystics (if at all; some people maintain wardens can match mystic DPS with adequate gear)

It is probalby fury, inquis, mytic, warden for order which is unfortuate for wardens since as a druid they should be below the fury and above ANY cleric or shaman equally geared/skilled.

Before the last game update I hit 15k on a parse on green/blue tso epic trash mobs(brig in raid lol). Last night I was hitting like 11-12k. But that was all dpsing when my group or the mt/ot didnt need healed. Not sure why the loss except for group makeup which shouldnt have caused that big a difference. (still had a brig)

As far as soloing, as a warden, I solo fine. Killing a higher lvl 3 up solo can be iffy with stuns/stifles but I do okay boxing my alts to lvl them in the back area of the rat side of the hole. I can kill the trash without much issue (mobs 3 to 5 lvls below me at 90) unless i just pull too many or get stunned/stifled.

Now my gear is optimized for dpsing and or healing and I switch between depending on whats going on.
