Played the game last night with no problem. Tried to log in today and I have a 9G + download. What gives? Station Launcher once again asked me to provide account name and password, even though I have checked the "remember" box, but this has happened before, with no problems getting back into the game.

This time, autoplay was off, and when I turned it on, my characters did not show up. But when I check the "Characters" drop down, all 4 are there.

Do I really need to do this download (which probably won't complete until tomorrow at this rate)? Please help.

In my experience, this can happen when (for whatever reason) your Launcher configuration gets messed up. Open your Launcher and log in. Click the Station dropdown menu and select Preferences. Click on Everquest 2. Look at the listed Install Location. If this does not match the correct game install location then use the Change Install Location button to point to the correct directory.

Hope this helps.

Skywarrior, thank you very much. Unfortunately, I have no idea of the correct location for the file and, apparently I have bollixed up my game completely. I have EQ2 and EQ2 (EN) listed and I of course have no idea which is good, although both seem to be downloading the 9G when I log in. I'm afraid to try too many option changes, but, on the other hand, if I don't try something, I'd have to wait til Monday for telephone support. Ah well, if I don't get it fixed, such is life.

[Removed for Content], now whatever I did has reset the updater back to zero, so even more of a delay. This just isn't worth it. My ineptitude with computers shouldn't even have come in to this. I just should have had to hit login and then played. Whatever happened, I have just compounded the difficulties by trying to fix it.

Sorry for whining.

If anyone has a step-by-step repair ... Kidding, I'm just waiting for the redownload to end, If this doesn't resolve the prob, I'll be back. and ignored I'm guessing.

The default install location for Windows 7 should be C:Program Files (x86)SonyInstalled GamesEverquest 2. If you originally installed from disk and did not make any changes during the install then that is probably where the game is installed. If you did not install the game yourself then you will need to ask the person who did it for you where they put it, unless you know enough to know how and what to look for.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you on this. I had an afternoon appointment on a lawnmower out in the yard.
