<p>Looking to upgrade the desktop and need some advice about good motherboards and chips, also video cards. I want my rig, on which I game and use a CAD program, to last another 2 years of new games coming out before I need to worry it is able to play them.</p><p>Not wanting cutting edge gear, nor wanting to change from AMD chip sets or DDR 2 memory.</p><p>Current specs are:</p><p><span style="font-size: x-small; font-family: Verdana;">ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe Motherboard</span></p><p><span style="font-size: x-small; font-family: Verdana;">AMD Athalon X2 dual core BE-2400. MMX 3DNow (2CPUs) </span><span style="font-size: x-small; font-family: Verdana;">4 gig DDR 2 RAM Nvidia GeForce 8600GT with 512 integrated RAMDAC Sound Blaster Audigy 2 sound card (I don't use the built in one) 2 HDs one 400 Gig one 500 Gig DVD/CD RW My tower, an older Diablo Demon face one, has 4 front load USB slots, and a Firewire one I think it is. I am using Win XP Pro SP 3 OS, but may be moving soon to Win 7 if it plays EQ2 well, and Mass Effests. </span></p><p><span style="font-size: x-small; font-family: Verdana;"> Please can someone give me advice on a good motherboard and chip to get? Maybe even also tell me how to start understanding what I am looking for so I can learn to do it myself? Thanks in advance. </span></p>
