View Full Version : A bad trend with melee damage using dual wielding weapons.

Normally, in instances or in raids my melee dps in proportion to my ca's and procs is about 30 to 35 percent of my overall damage. It seemed however, that in BG's my melee damage was lower in proportion to the rest of my damage. I ran smugglers den last night and checked my parses. The highest percentage of 5 smugglers den runs was 15 percent, the lowest was 7 and my average was 11 percent. Roughly 1/3rd of what it is in normal instances or raids. Shouldn't these numbers decrease proportionatly from normal combat to bg combat? It's especailly bad against tanks where, the damage is dropping to the point that I'm probably doing them a favor trying to melee them. Take this same problem a few more months down the road when more people will have toughness and you may see rogues speccing buckler and toting higher delay one handers because dual weilding damage with be mitigated into the ground. There's a similar problem with short delay throwing weapons. It's average hit is so low that if it wasn't for a few of the ca's I have linked to throwing weapons a long delay bow would make more sense.

Raznor

Sorta the reason I started using 2 handers in bg's... I got sick of healing sk's because brawlers weaps or low delay low damage, and with mit, do less damage than the sk's tap shield does to me and heals them for more than the damage I do to them. Now that I swapped to a two hander I can actually see their life falling.

Yes, unlike mages, scouts damage isn't concentrated soley in their spells (melee arts for scouts). Part comes from their auto-attacks, which with all this easy to get BG gear goes from tiny to tinier.
