My gf and I have just starting playing. Very impressed with the community and have gotten some great help so far. I play a Beserker and she's an Inquisitor.

Like every new player she combs the forums for ideas/advice on different builds, however it seems most discussion centers on either solo play or end game healing builds. She can't seem to find a leveling build that isn't solo.

Since she most likely will never be soloing, any thoughts on where she should start with her AA's? I typically love pulling 5-6 mobs at a time just to keep her on her toes (heh), but as she's been putting in her AA's (she has a few in Yal) she is finding that she is struggling to keep up and lacks the power to do more than a couple of pulls. I realize that as we get higher level, both our play styles will adept with the more difficult mobs. She's basically interested in healing and still being able to do dmg when she can.

Really appreciate any tips anyone might have on a build/gear that would keep her playing, and allow me to play as well (heh).

What level is she and how many AAs does she have currently? You said she put a few into Yal, and I am not entirely sure what that means. If she put a few points into Yaulp, it is not worth it beyond the first point, as all other give stat bonuses rather than upgrading the ability.

Do you have all the expansion?

Generally, a duo/group heal spec IS the solo spec with minor differences in trees like Shadows and/or SF. For one thing, there isn't enough space to take all of the dps options as well as the heal options in Shadows (although you can get somewhat close).

In general Steadfast, the end line ability in the far left cleric tree (22 points) is a must, as it prevents her from being interrupted while trying to heal you. Battle Cleric in the Inquisitor tree (21 points) is also a must. Since it is a duo, I would recommend the middle line (the one with Hammer Divine Strike in it) for the melee increase damage and the crits that are useful till you can go above 100% by gear alone. From there, she can either the second from the left (Wondrous Buckling) for a bit of CC, defense and double attack OR the far right line for casting speed and other goodies.

The punishments line in Inquisitor procs heals every time it goes off, to help her with her work load a bit.

I can't be more specific unless I get a bit more detail =)

About the power issues: Until level 45 that will remain a problem. At level 45 she will gain a new spell called Inquest. It is a proc she can cast on your berserker so that every of your auto attacks has a chance to proc power for her Inquisitor. Also Yaulp is a huge power drain early on. If she has to much problem managing her power it is best to toggle it of. You should also not put more then one point into Yaulp. If you are always playing together and you always pull many mobs a good way to go would be to get fast cast out of the most right line of the Cleric tree (4-4-10) and the crit out of the middle line (4-4-10). Then Battle Cleric in the Inquisitor tree is also always a good idea. After that it depends on your level: If still below 50 the debuffs in the Inquisitor tree and Steadfast in the Cleric tree are ok. If above 50 it would be useful to skill Enhanced Fanaticism. You can also skill the punishment line while you are at it. After that you can move to the shadow tree to get some nice heal AA there. Also take Litany of combat. It only costs 5 points but can greatly increase the DPS of the Inquisitor.

The heal stance in the Shadow Tree was when I started to get a handle on my power issues. upgrade Inquest and have her put it on an Assassin/Swash/Brig or Illy/Enchanter. You want that to proc as much as possible. I even made a macro so the person knows that I'm counting on them to generate some power for me.

That doesn't really help a new player but power management is one of those things you have to work through and learn to manage heals efficiently.

Group heals eat more power than single target, so unless you aren't worried about it (which I usually am not, but that's by virtue of being max level than anything else) stick to single target as much as possible. Oh, and according to some on this board, although I personally haven't seen it make a difference, dogma eats a little power each time a heal is cast one each person seperately, making group heals even more costly.
