View Full Version : Should the access level of travel items be adjusted?

This thread made me realize that there is extreme variation between house items that can transport you. I decided to do an experiment using the ones I have to see what the minimum level of access is to use them. Since all my toons have trustee access to the house I hadn't checked my transport items before. I was really surprised when I did check. Here is what I found:

Visitor access useable items:

Guild Hall Door

An Unusual Bottle

Archeologist's Token of the Excavation

Mystical Nayad Plushie

Trustee access useable items:

Empowered Research Orb

Tinkered Delight

Toasting the Leatherfoot Brigade

The Ganak Battlements

I really think the access level of the carpenter made travel items should be adjusted to visitor level access. I'm a carpenter and I've made these items for one of my houses and would like for anyone who comes in to be able to use them. For example, if someone comes in to buy directly from my sales crates, I would like for them to be able to go whereever they want to from the travel items available in my house.

Would those who have different travel items in their house post what level of access they require to use?

I'd rather all house travel items be set to visitor access because I don't want other people being able to move items around which they could do at friend access level. Trustee access is of course completely out of the question.

Edited for typos.

I agree that friend and trustee access are bad for travel items, unless they intentionally set it that way assuming you give trustee to your alts.

Visitor would be nice. I know I get a lot of use of the guild hall door in my house when someone comes in for a commission.

Would probably diminish the amount of orders people get for the item as all they'd have to do is find/know someone in town who has one and just "visit" them for their traveling needs.

Now I'm not gonna throw a fit if they do listen to the rest of ya complaining about the access levels for the new items, but it does irk me when I set up sales displays with the decor of my in-game home in mind only to come in and find people running in and out of my home, clicking for buffs, rides, over-feeding my plants and animals, crafting on my tables, and not a single copper in the sales box.

I'd rather see all travel-clicking,plant/mole-feeding, crafting, and click-buff house items set to friends-only or higher with the only exception being the guild hall door...that I'd leave visitor accessible. But that's just me.

I'd love to see a "guild" level option for items, to be set individually on each. So that my guildies could use the ports I crafted, but they can't move stuff around in the rest of my house.

Don't even know if that's possible...

Just one more reason these items are about worthless in their current state.

Other than the magic door, those things need to all work in guild halls.
