I don't want to have people have to get a brand new set of gear for Battlegrounds, as that would be completely and totally silly. I don't want to force ANYONE to "Gear up" anymore than anyone else.

However, if there is one thing that is readily apparent, the people from Nagafen have an innate advantage the instant that they set foot inside of a battlegrounds. I've played on PVP servers up to level cap before, so i'm a pretty well versed player when it comes to the ability to handle myself in PVP. Where does it fall down to? The gear.

Players on Nagafen walk onto the playing field with: Toughness that people on PVE servers can't use, effects that mitigate mitigation and what not, easy heals, immunities, etc, that PVE gear has never had, and probably never will. When three people from Nagafen can kill 10-12 people on their own at a spawn point, then there is something more than tactics going on here.

Now, instead of saying "No. They can't use PVP Gear." I would argue that in order to level the playing field, that any effects native to PVP gear (unless wearing Battlegrounds gear) do not work in battlegrounds. However, any effects that would be native to PVE servers would continue to function as they normally would.

This would mean that: Toughness, effects that ignore mitigation, powerful stun procs or damage procs that are meant for PVP focusses, would not function. Gear that has effects such as "If you are attacked, it has a chance to stun your opponent into the ground" would not function. All other stats? Would function perfectly well.

This would put Player Versus Environment and Player Versus Player on an even playfield.

The classic counterargument for this would of course be that "It's not the gear that matters, it's the playstyle." To this counterargument I would say that: If the PVP Centered stats were removed and the playing field were leveled, playstyle would still be in those who are on Nagafen's innate benefit. The playstyle of those on Nagafen would still allow them to have an innate advantage over those who don't.

Thoughts? (Let's try to keep this one civil? Hopefully not too much to ask for.)

As it stands now we have no edge on toughness, it is easily obtainable via BGs and most people should have nearly a whole set of the gear by now. I suggest that you check your logs for these devious procs that are so overpowered, you might be surprised at where they come from... I am pretty sure I know which items you speak of, however I will leave you to your easter egg hunt.

I'll pay a little more close attention to my parser, go to EQ2i/LootDB, and look to see if the effects match.
Saying that there is no PvE procs that equated into even the effects that were taken away from PvP Gear is laughable. Look into things before you make any blanket statements without checking your facts

BG gear is better than t8 pvp gear and gives toughness in slots that t8 pvp gear does not. And all pvp procs, except for a couple (which have easily accesible superior pve versions), have already been outright blanket turned off in bg's. Pve players have the (noticeable) advantage now, all the people still being slaughtered are losing because they just cant pvp.

Its also worth noting that almost all the effects you noted as effects on pvp gear arent even effects of pvp gear outside of bg's. I would not however be at all surprised to see pve raiders doing everything you just described and more...

I think in two days I had enough for two pieces. Since they've been introduced I've got 4 armor peices, and 3-4 pieces of jewelery.

If toughness is your main concern, as the others have been pretty much debunked, there IS player made level 80 toughness gear, available on all servers. I understand your DPS will likely go down some while wearing this, but you may just notice that in the long run you're doing more dps, cuz well, you don't do much dps when you're dead.

This item is also EASILY available to anyone, however it being a brokenly op item I do not want to let anyone else know about it that does not already know. This item should be nerfed a lot more for PVP imo.
