cant run game, launcher problem

<p>hello.</p><p>I bought and downloaded the game from steam and then when i try to launch the game it gets me to download a "launcher set up" program which i try to install</p><p>i click the exe file and then i get an error message right away saying it "internet explorer script errors" and asked if i wanted to continue running scripts so i said yes</p><p>then it tried to install the launcher and didnt get very far and i had to abort because of an error. I tried to install again, but the launcher now tries to run and seems it somehow is installed even though it didnt finish.</p><p>when i run the launcher it says "connecting" for a very long time then after about five minutes it goes to this other window that has the big green "checking box" and another box that says something about "my characters, coming soon". I cant go any farther then this window.  if i press the refresh button in the corner it says "error occured trying to access EverQuest II Streaming. Error Code: 22"</p><p>i was going to uninstall the launcher and try again, but in add/remove programs, the launcher is not listed as a program. so i have no idea what to do.</p><p>i am running XP and i completely turned my firewall and anti virus off.</p><p>please let me know what i can do to get the game running thanks.</p>

<p>Based purely on your description I would guess the problem is with Steam's install scripts and you should try to get support from them for the install.  That said, I've never used Steam so don't really know how they work.</p><p>If you have the activation key from Steam in hand or already applied to your account, you might consider just forgetting the Steam install and download the Station Launcher from <a href="http://launcher.station.sony.com/">http://launcher.station.sony.com/</a>.  Once the Launcher is installed you can patch the game that way.</p>

<p>ok it looked like an everquest launcher, not a steam launcher.</p><p>but i tried the silver/blue colored one you linked to and installed that, then I logged on and linked it to the steam folder that has my game. its now patching the game. 9.84 GB <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> oh well thats going to take awhile, guess ill go have lunch...and maybe come back around dinner time lol</p><p>thanks for the help</p>
