<p>I keep getting this error when trying to install Everquest 2: Sentinel's Fate.</p><p><strong>Feature: Everquest II</strong></p><p><strong>Component: Common</strong></p><p><strong>File: E:data3.cab</strong></p><p><strong>Error: Data Error (cyclic redundancy check )</strong></p><p>I'm running Windows 7.</p><p>I've disabled my virus protection as instructed.</p><p>Suggestions?</p>

<p><cite>Nexariel wrote:</cite></p><blockquote><p>How do I install from the Launcher?</p><p>Sorry, brand new to EQ.</p></blockquote><p>No problem.  Welcome to EQ2 and sorry you are having issues like this.  I guess there is always the chance of a bad disk when you buy software.  Anyway, <a href="http://launcher.station.sony.com/" target="_blank">go to this page </a>(follow link), download and install the Launcher.  When you run the Launcher, plug in your Station Account information when requested (station name and password), then click on the Everquest II button when you get the games menu.</p><p>I recommend that you install the Launcher and the game outside of the default folders, maybe create a C:Games directory and install there.  It should create fewer UAC issues for you when running EQ2, without lowering your security settings or having to run as Admin.</p><p>Edit:  By the way, since CRC errors usually do indicate a media failure, if you want a replacement disk you might call SOE Customer Service and see what they can do.  It won't help you get the install done very quickly but if you want a good set of CDs it's worth the phone call.  I don't know that they would send you a new box with a new CD key in it but I can't imagine that they wouldn't replace the bad disk for you.</p>
