View Full Version : Spell/CA lag fix anytime soon?

<p>I have not been playing the new expansion because of the Spell/CA lag - it just make it not fun to keep pressing buttons a second and third time to get them to work - and casting spells out of order....or missing a backstab bacause of lag. It was horrible when there were 90 people in the zone and it still is bad with 65 people in a zone. Splitting the number of people per instance would help I guess but then you are breaking up the MMO part of the game. Are the servers in need of replacing? the code need updating? Is it just not possible?</p><p>Why cant EQ2 support large numbers of people in a zone without it causing trouble? What happens? What can be improved? Is the fix letting it go until people stop playing and the population thins out? Is this why EQ doesnt have a huge player base? It seems it wouldnt be able to handle an influx of new players. I want EQ2 to be popular and grow! But I dont think the servers can handle it. <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

<p>This is by far one of the most annoying issues with the game. Chalk it up to either bad servers, or poorly optimized scripts/mechanic interaction I guess. I hope something is done about this, I get very frustrated while raiding with this kind of behavior. It doesn't seem to matter how populated or desolate a server is, or how fast your internet connection happens to be, it just seems to lag.</p>

<p>This is odd, I do not have any lag on my server at all in the new areas.... and I do play on a medium populated server....</p><p>Moving this to the Tech forums however...</p>

<p>Its like this on befallen...preety much need to kill contested mobs at 3 am instead of earlier because the lag is just to much.And even at 3 am with 50 people in the zone 1-2 second lag on every spell cast makes it not fun.</p>

<p>Runnyeye, 100 people in Sundered Frontier... moving an item in the inventory takes up to three seconds.</p><p>Pulling some of the contested mobs is simply impossible, as curing effects that will kill you within three seconds requires guessing and casting before the effect lands... =/</p>

<p>Its now Prime time for west coast - 11:20 East coast - - only 45 people in the grid server Im on and now the lag is bad - not as bad as with 75 people in the zone but annoying. There are 2 instances of SF. Im guessing that the general server population right now is much higher than this afternoon, so that seems to compound the lag in the new zones.</p>
