Alrighty. I've played EQ2 before, WAY back when it first came out. So, I decided to come back and see how things were ; Start fresh.

My problem is that I don't know which tradeskill I should take.

I already got to 20 Tailoring, and before I knew it, my Necromancer was level 30. So, I dropped Tailoring, deciding it was a big waste.

What I'd like to know is, what tradeskill is the most useful? [Mainly to a Necromancer of sorts.]

I was looking up the different types and Carpentry would really only be a happy point, because I love my house and it's feeling a bit empty these days.

But aside from that, I could even do Carpentry on a different character.

What would either be useful to a Necromancer, or can make a good bit of money when I'm bored and decide to craft?

Thank you for yo' help. :]

You could've stuck with tailoring to make your own gear. You could do sage for making your expert level spells. Provisioner is good for any class. Everyone usually needs food.

Avoid carpentry unless you're really into the house items. It's hard to tell what people will want from this class. It doesn't sound like it would suit you.

Carpenters make darn fine money selling salesman's crates, strorage boxes, repair kits, and furniture.

You would not believe how many common crafted carpenter items from ALL TIERS of crafting a Norrathian Interior Designer will use. If you get into doing interior design yourself, you can actually negotiate some sweet deals for lots of plat, plus expenses, to decorate homes and guild halls for people.

See the Norrathian Homeshow forum for ideas!

To be honest, on your main toon you will most likely out level any tradeskill that would help you, unless you deliberately slow down your adventure leveling or make a huge effort to keep your craft 10 levels higher than your adventuring.

My main is a carpenter for fun. I've gotten a lot of enjoyment out of having a decorated house to come home to after a long day of adventuring.

She did the harvesting for the others to have the mats to level up their crafting. I can make what my alts need as they level up now, but my main always had someone craft her spells and armor for her after she harvested the rares.

Thanks for your suggestions, I think I may just go with Carpentry. I don't want to pick things that would have to be a bunch of levels higher than I am because I level so darn fast. And I love messing around with houses. :] Once again, thanks. XD
