Originally I was having a problem where certain pieces of armor were missing (notably the Guarding of the <something> that was added with SF). The missing armor pieces showed up as "naked" so I saw a bunch of people running around in the starter rags.

So I tried deleting some of the .pak files from the paks folder thinking it would force them to redownload. This did not change anything. So I figured I'd delete the paks folder entirely and force a redownload.

Now the game runs and oddly enough I can see the armor I couldn't before (Brew Day boots now show up, before they did not). The strange thing is that I still don't have a paks folder and where my Everquest II folder was 11Gb, now it's only 2Gb. If the game is going to run smoothly this way I don't mind I guess. What concerns me is if a) the files are being downloaded to some other place on my hard drive (though I did a search and didn't find them somewhere else) or b) the game is only running from the assetcache folder and I will have to constantly wait while it downloads files into the cache.

My wife's machine, which has been running normally the whole time, still has a paks folder where it should be.
