Need help with stats.

<p>Hi, so I just came back to my paladin a few weeks ago and hit 80 last week. I have missed out on a lot of the TSO / 80 content so every other day or so i like to run a shard zone or two. I am 84 now and the other day i was trying to tank level 80 Befallen: Necrotic Asylum. I was getting roughed up pretty bad ( also my healer was pretty under geared). This was also happening to me in The Crucible. I have 4/6 T1 Shard gear and the rest is mostly MC and legendaries. And I have somewhere around 110 AA.</p><p>Can any1 tell me why i am getting hit so hard in these instances? I thought for sure i would be able to tank some of the medium difficulty shard zones at level 84.</p><p>Also, what stats should i adorn? Health / Defense / Parry / Block /  or just plain Stats like sta / agi?</p><p>Thanks</p><p>*EDIT* Oh, I forgot to mention that I also have my Fabled Truth of Marr</p>

T1 Void Shard armor is hardly awesome. The Crucible and Necrotic Asylum are the "hardest" of the Everfrost/Befallen instances, initially intended to be run in a (at least) a set of T2 shard gear. Check your aa spec, make sure you are loading up on all the defensive options available to you until your gear supports a more aggressive dps spec. Since you are a pally, aggro shouldn't be too much of a challenge even if your dps isn't great. In the mean time build your groups to back you up appropriately if you have the option. Take 2 healers or a bard (or both). Take classes that stun mobs and make them not hit you so often/bad. As far as stats? HP is better than STA due to the return rate on stamina after you get a decent amount of it. Get a decent shield. Make sure you have the endline on the far right of your pally tree for shield effectiveness. I wouldn't gear for AGI, just focus on STR. Block, defense and parry are your friends probably in that order. Being a good tank is very complicated and I recommend you read up. Don't just take what I have to say. Do the research, try stuff out and check your stats when you equip different items.

<p>Thanks for the reply. And no, I don't have any problem with threat especially with the new SF AA i spec'd into which gives me a pretty high percentage to proc a 4-6k threat encounter taunt. I am also spec'd into increased hate gain, and the block effectiveness as you mentioned. I think that you're probably right about the second healer thing, I could use one of those. I just bought some new 84 MC gear as well and some 81-89 Legendaries, so i might go back in and try to finish it up to maybe get Living Wall.</p><p>Thanks for the input on the stats, i really needed some guidance on that.</p>

<p>I don't know what level gear you had when you first posted. Your mitigation and block fall off as you level. If you are level 90 and have 2 shields both with 1,400 protection... but one is level 80 and the other is level 90, the level 80 shield will give you less block than the level 90 shield. Same goes for mitigation. It's kinda dumb how that works, but there you have it. I wouldn't bother farming Living Wall; it won't be that great for you at level 90.</p><p>Basically you are getting hit hard because you have an under geared healer, under geared tank, and doing Necrotic Asylum. Not sure what kind of setup you had, but nothing beats a templar/dirge combo for survivability. If you had a druid or under geared shaman and no dirge.... then yea... ouch. An enchanter will reduce your incoming damage, and so will a swash. Try something like you, templar, dirge, enchanter, swashbuckler, and a shaman/brigand/assassin and see what you can do.</p>

<p>I kind of want Living wall just for the looks, cause I am now level 87.</p><p>And yes, i wanted a cleric, but i got a druid ftl, and he was an undergeared druid guildy so his highest heals were like 2 or 3k it sucked. And we did not have a bard. Did have a chanter though.</p><p>Managed to get to the second boss.</p><p>Thanks for all of the input guys.</p>
