Zoning takes incredibly long with Windows 7. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Any known fix?

It's a new computer and I've updated all of the drivers, etc....

I used the Station Launcher to re-install the game and it downloaded in about 10 minutes, which seems awfully fast considering it used to take many hours. When I log in it takes about 10 minutes to load the entity resources and update the environment map, etc... Theres also a little dinosaur at the bottom of the screen that is doing a GB countdown. When I'm in the zone everything is fine, except the sound initially has a delay.

If I leave the zone then come back to the zone I fully downloaded, the process starts over again.

I've tried uninstalling and re-installing, but no luck. I've also re-installed to the Program Files (x86) drive and still no luck.

Anyone have the same problem or have any suggestions? It seems like a memory problem. This is really frustrating since my old computer worked fine with Vista and didn't have nearly the hardware my new one has.

That's not a Windows 7 issue.

That's a streaming client issue. It downloads the zone everytime you go in and SHOULDN'T download it again after you have been in once. But it sounds like it is. You might want to see if there is a non-streaming version of the client that you can use. The downside is you will have to download the entire game in one go... which might take a day (I don't know how good your connection is, so just guessing there), but at least you won't have the zoning problem.

I figure it has to be something like that since its normally a router problem and I'm not using one.

Anyone know of how to download a non-streaming version of the client? I looked and can't find it.

Downloaded Station Launcher and problem solved. They should have this load at the reinstall screen.
