this cant be working right its so bad others tell sorcerers be careful not to pop it from instinct . If we do use it the whole mana bar is gone from 1 attack from any class then they take a while to drill the health off us . The mana is supposed to be worth 3 hp for every 2 of mana not reverse . Has any dev looked into this or were we nerfed in this department ? As it stands manashield is completely worthless and maybe the points could be used elsewhere to help one shot folks even better . Please let us know if manashield has been changed purposely or if this is just another bug to be fixed eventually .

Shouldn't be getting Massive Concussive Strike or whatever it's called five miles away.

Manashield works as it is supposed to do, not broken or bugged in any way.

manashield in pvp has a different conversion rate and well depending on the class hitting you ya it can be taken down in 1 shot

Manashield has usually only one use in PvP, and thats to stay alive one more second to tell your party you're going to die and where.

If I can one shot someone else, then its fair that they can one shot my manashield away.

The fact it leaves you with no power makes it useless in PvP anyway.. you cant break encounter and get away, you cant cast it and kite them if there is more than one.. its just not an ability suited well to PvP I think

It wasn't meant to be.

I've assumed that 99% of the combat related abilities and spells that classes get are built around the world of PvE. Manashield works well against PvE, they don't straight pummel your face unless you're in way over your head with a yellow triple up Heroic mob. Manashield gets you enough damage reduction that you can finish off your mob and take a breather to get your power back.

In PvP, it is a power killer, you go from 1-2 shot to 2-4 shot at best. Now maybe this enough to have your tank taunt your assailant, maybe its enough for the cleric to fear him, or just maybe you get lucky and manage to root or burn him down. Odds are though, you're looking down the barrel of a shotgun, you'll block that first shell but take the second in the face.

I use to spec MS for years, being on a pvp server I swore by it. I just recently dropped it for all BG use.

Why?

Because the times it has actually saved me in bg's I can count on one hand. All the other times I either didnt even get to cast it quick enough or it just allowed me to live 1 or 2 sec longer.

So its just not worth it anymore, Id rather use to the AA's for more dps and other constant defensive buffs.

Do I miss it? sure, its great for "solo" pvp, but bg's is not solo pvp so its not really usefull. I leave MS at home unless I go out and loo kfor open pvp out solo.

When I cast and see no damage but a sudden drop of Mana, I use my disspell. I usually take out the manashield when it lands. I then continue to let the magic skulls of death fly..
