Hello everyone I am in the process of upgrading my PC. The old specs are as follows.

Phenom 2 2.6GHZ x3

4GB of ddr 1066 ram

8800GTX 768mb

500GB Western Digital Hard drive

onboard sound

and a 850 Watt Power supply

I just upgraded the processor to a Phenom 2 3.2GHZ x4 and all I got was a minor 6fps increase. What gives? Monday I am upgrading the Video Card to a 275GTX. Do you think I will see another increase? Right now I am only at 36fps on HQ mode. Thats pretty sad when I can run Fallout 3 on Ultra mode and get 56fps with my current setup.

EQ2 was build at a time where Intel was saying that well about this time we all should be running 6-8GHz.

But after/when EQ2 came out Intel and AMD went for more cores and not higher CPU speed.

So basic EQ2 was desigend for a system that still do not exist.

Also the great improvment on the GPU field was also after the EQ2 engine was desigen.

So for a game like Fallout 3 that is desigen for more morden systems then EverQuest 2 to run better is normal.

Launch the Nvidia control panel, set it to advanced. In the 3D Global settings look for Power management mode, change it from adaptive to prefer maximum performance

Well I upgraded the Video card to a 275GTX and now I get 60 to 140fps (140fps in doors) on HQ setting. So the video card was totaly holding me back. I probbaly didnt even need the processor upgrade. Usually I hover between 60 to 90fps. I tested it on Extreme setting with GPU shadows and it was running 50fps. (outdoors) So finally I can play this game with good graphics.
