I was in a smugglers den bg yesterday with a zerk that for the first 3/4 of the match was on top of 3 of the different parses. DPS parse (Im cool with that maybe he had uber gear) Damage taken parse (sweet he was taunting.. good boy) and the heal parse (dubbya tee eff?). Its not like the healers werent healing... he was just healing like a monster... as a zerker.

Is this working as intended?

One possible thing is reactives. He could have all his uber gear properly adorned with "heals for 2k" adorns. This would give him a fair bit on the heal parse assuming he is taking damage ofc.

Parse or it didn't happen.

What heals was it? If it was adornments, then obviously it has nothing to do with class.

For 30 seconds I can see topping the heal parse, but it would require suck healing. No wards. No reactives. Have to have only a druid.

It wasnt on my actual parser... it was on the bg parser. We had 4 very high dpsers on him and couldnt take him down so Im like dang... checked the bg stats and there he was on top of those three stats. When I say we had 4 high dpsers on him it was us 4 against just him. Not complaining mind you, just asking if this is how the new aa's etc were supposed to be working. It's cool zerkers got some love, theyve been a red headed stepchild for a while now.

So yeah if he had 20,000 health, every incoming hit was healing him for at least 800 - more depending on potency. So DOT ticks or smaller procs and such were actually net healing instead of damaging. It's short term though. 30 seconds every 3 minutes or so depending on recast buffs. It's great (sounding) for PVP, doesn't do a thing at all in raids or vs single foes in PVE, or if wards/reactives are up. So lots of Berserkers aren't all that excited about it.

That's assuming that's what it was healing him though. Could have been gear as slothmister noted. /shrug

Berserkers have a new AA ability called Battle Frenzy(?). For 30 seconds, whenever the berserker takes damage, he heals 4% of his health. With enough mitigation, solo and lower level/weaker heroic mobs pretty much just keep him topped off on health. It sounds nice, but it has a semi-long recast and it doesn't help much against heavy hits (white+ ^^^ heroics, named heroics, or strong nukes). It's primarily useful on a mass of mobs (berserkers are AOE tanks) and not so much on solo mobs.

But the point is (being a tank), the 4% on a class with LOTS of hitpoints and being hit multiple times a second is some massive healing. It's not much different than any other tanks pseudo-invunerability mode (100% parry, stoneskins, etc) and has been a long-time-needed survivability boost when soloing for the Berserker.

This isn't an ability every berserker can just have: you must be level 81 with 70 points spent in the Berserker AA line, plus 10 more spent in the Sentinal's Fate AA for the Berserker tree, and then FINALLY! you can buy it.

Being on top of a DPS parse probably meant he was killing mass groups of players (must have AOE damage to reliably do that unless he severely outgeared the DPS classes) which besides being tank, he would naturally be on top of the damage taken, and with a a mass of players like that, he would easily hit the top heal if he used Battle Frenzy.

'zerkers have two things: a KOS AA ability that reduces power cost and returns a portion of power used as health, and Battle Frenzy that heals the 'zerker as he's hit. If the 'zerker's using his CAs properly, he's probably getting a lot of healing from the first. And he could have gear on that procs heals (I've got 2 pieces, one procs a heal for me and the other procs a group heal).

Probably doesn't help that the BG parser doesn't (or didn't ... no idea if it was fixed yesterday or not) count wards.
