I had taken a break from Eq2 just about the time all classes were being mixed into the DPS pot.

An otherwise buffing class would start toping the parse and so forth.

Has the new changes to the Illu class given a choice for ppl who would prefer to be support rather then assassins?

I feel much more satisfied knowing I've CC'd and ultra buffed ppl then havin thrown little white balls enough to top the parse. =)

I'm asking because although I re-sub'd a am un able to play just yet work, life etc... =)

Well the 2nd half of your dream is true, we are buffbots and great ones at that. Absolutely no CC in the game, and our dps was just taken away. You can do the math to see what's left.

Well so long as we are still able to turn a normal group into a fast killing group and do some dps I think I would still feel alright about that, tobad about the CC though...

In Eq1 there was no better feeling then having a pull go bad and saving the day by mezz'n 2 or even 3 guys down while the group is taking care of the rest =)

That was my favorite thing about the original everquest enchanter as well.

I wouldn't say that there are no opportunities to do that in eq2, just that they are so few and far between that the average group doesn't know how to recognize it and ends up engaging everything and breaking your mezzes anyway.

I still keep my mezzes on my hotbar...but i sometimes have to look to remember where they are. Usually the reason I had trouble finding them is because they were hidden under a thick layer of dust.

That's odd, how SOE would allow a player to match another players buff with gear.

Kind of makes us the "well lets at least fill the last stop" guy in the raid hahah

You're all forgetting that we still have one vital group role....as a battery. Yup, no CC left to us, no real direct buffs (IA isn't a big deal anymore and I have a lot of people who would rather catch upbeat than TC), we can't even DPS that well.....and good luck in the BG. We're pretty much there just to feed people power...and even that got nerfed.

Once the group is low on power, don't expect to catch up easily. We don't have group mana flow and don't have Channel.
