character deletion and guilds

<p>Your name on the forums is a link.  I can tell from it what your Forum identity is, besides Kissoon, and I can tell that you play Strategy Games thru SOE, or at least at one point did.  You alts, however, aren't listed, though I 'm fairly certain, if I do a player search on EQ2Players, if you haven't set them as private, I can probably find them fairly easily.</p>

<p>Nope, I have access to exactly the same amount of information I had before.  By process of elimination (given I know you're trying to hide your alts) I can assume that I found you by finding the one person who has no alts tab at all (which is why I set mine to Visible to Guild) which doesn't hide the alts tab, but hides the alts to anyone who isn't in your guild, and only for those alts who are in the guild.</p><p>I'll state again that this is a fool's errand, as SOE doesn't care much about privacy issues.  This extends from the concept of privacy being a legal fallacy of the US Legal System.  You don't have a right to it.  Only a right against unwarranted search and seizure.  Since you account belongs to SOE, anyway, they have the right, as the owner, to seize it for whatever reason.  Your subscription only pays for a license to access that account.  Hiding details of it is at SOE's discretion, in as much as they extend you the courtesy of being able to have some options in that regard.  You will never have total privacy, anonymity or anything closely approximating it.  I choose the option to hide in plain sight and have nothing to hide, so to speak.  I regard privacy as something sought only by those with things to hide.</p>

I know this is true in WOW, but I have never seen that happen in this game.</p>

<p>A guild message would not show up. A guild message only shows up if you leave the guild from in-game, but if you delete the toon, he will be removed from the guild, but no msg would appear. Regardless of settings.</p>
